I just woke up and went in the kitchen to do the dishes. Never got that far. Christian the cat wanted to eat again so I poured him a bowl of food, then as I was putting the bag in the cabinet while still half asleep, dropped and spilled it all over that floor.

Crystal's in there now cleaning up the mess for me. Norton doesn't care for cat food.

hmm....i missed out on amazon's offer of $2.99 for some of its albums under best of 2012, but that was before i figured out how to buy from their mp3 store. now it's $3.99. i wonder if these prices are limited-time only or if i have time to wait for another mp3 credit promo.

Right now I'm posting from my iPad because I'm in the living room waiting for the UPS man. He came yesterday, and I missed him. The dogs let me down. Usually they go crazy when someone rings the doorbell. Of course, they might have gone crazy and I slept right through it. I had just come home from 12 hours of night shift and I was dead tired. No doorbell, knock on the door, or phone call would have aroused me. I doubt I would have awakened had the UPS man stood over my bed beating me with a 2x4. I was that tired from the extra duties that the new regime has laid on us. Both our new bosses seem bent on proving their little fingers are bigger than our former boss's loins.

Wondering if birds can binge eat. They've already eaten a third of the sunflower seeds I put in the feeder yesterday. They did drop some in the garden, today when I was working I heard a regular ticking, so tomorrow I'm not only going to order a new (and bigger) bag of sunflower seeds but a bowl I can attach to the bottom of the feeder that catches the seeds they drop.

What they might be doing is taking extra seed back to their babies.

They can be messy. The ground around our feeders is a compost of discarded sunflower seed shells.

I've got shell-less seeds but they are indeed messy.

It's fun to watch the birds. I have a peanut feeder and a sunflower seed feeder with two "entrances" hanging on the scaffolding outside my window (my father never took it down after renewing the guttering a couple of years ago), there's often a queue of birds waiting for their turn to get to the sunflower seeds.
