Yes - these are the lenses without the lines. I've used this type of lens for years ... without problems - but this year my prescription changed enough to warrant purchasing new lenses - and I've had a horrible time adjusting to them. The new lenses made text blurry, not sharp. I've been re-training my eyes & brain - and have slowly adjusted. The tech told me that far-sighted folk (which I am) have the most problems using & adjusting to transitional lenses - and often have difficulties when their prescription changes. Things have cleared up (literally!) but I'm still "fine-tuning" my use of these lenses.

It's a great idea and almost like wearing tri-focals, and I liked it for looking straight ahead and for reading, but they caused me problems when riding and driving, especially riding motorcycle. Peripheral vision is essential to staying alive on a bike, but all I was getting was blur. It got better with the next generation of lenses, but still too much for me to try to deal with. At some point they are going to phase out the old style completely and I'm not looking forward to that at all!

Same here. I have found them to be next to useless, and don't work 100% properly for anything. I only use them for watching TV or driving at the moment, but even so have gone back to standard lenses.

Trying to decide which movies I want to take with me tomorrow when I'm going to my friends' place.

Also looking forward to tomorrow. My father is going to the memorial service for my great aunt and not wanting me to be in the store on my own on a Saturday he asked a guy who used to work for us when he was still at school to come help me out. He also helped when my parents went on vacation in February. It's always great fun when he's in the store.

Have a great Saturday, Rumpelteazer.

Right now, I am procrastinating about getting some errands done. I have to drive to town, pay the city for the utilities, do the banking, and get gas. I really should be mowing the lawns and replacing the hose on the pond pump, then clean it out. Do it all, do part today and the rest tomorrow, or just forget about it and read?

I hate having to make decisions like that. Maybe, I'll put up the shade umbrellas, grab a chair and a book, and think about it some more.

Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions. I'd go for the book, too! Except you'd best pay for the utilities before they shut them off ..... But other than that -- The Book!

Darn, there it that I suppose. OK. I guess I better at least to do the errands then ignore the yard and enjoy the day under the umbrella.

I just know there is something famous that validates my kind of thinking...

"After all, tomorrow is another day" - Quote from Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind.

The sun is up and the temps are cool... We're mapping out a 200k ride through the mountains, with a picnic along the way!

Have fun, Stitchawl.

The evening has cooled off and we have a nice little breeze now.

I'm being lazy and ignoring the dishes.

Recovering... We had to cut our ride short as the winds were aboslutely insane! We were following a river valley and had winds that were blowing us all over the road! By lunchtime we were exhausted and took a much shorter route home, following some very small forest roads to try to avoid the winds. I'm bushed!

Heading out later to buy a new TV. Thinking about 3d, but passive or active?

Passive is a lot cheaper (for the glasses). But I'm not convinced that 3D will be with us long term, either in theatres or on TV/Blu-Ray.
