Container tabs are an attempt to isolate things in containers, providing a sandbox separated from other things. Container tabs hold containers.
The most notable container at the moment is one provided by Mozilla for Facebook, intended to keep your use of Facebook isolated from what else you do. These are an expression of current concerns about privacy and being tracked online, with Facebook seen as a Worst Offender. The things that track folks are programs trying to build profiles for advertisers who want to better target ads, and track what the user is using to surf the net. Precisely who the user is is irrelevant at that point. The advertiser probably doesn't care who the user is - only that they see ads they might pay attention to. Who the user is will be revealed if they answer an ad, establish an account with a vendor, and buy something. Until they do, who they are is unimportant. I occasionally ask folks going on about privacy "What makes you special? You are one of hundreds of millions of users. Why should a human being at Google, Facebook, or the like take any interest in you?" I tend not to get meaningful answers. ![]() ______ Dennis |

And given the folks you post about here, to whom you're speshul, I'm sure that's a status you would cheerfully decline...
![]() But since we're venting and ranting, I'll toss in a rant about the folks firmly convinced that 5G cellular causes Coronavirus infection. Yes. They exist. I'm at an utter loss to understand this, beyond assuming utter ignorance and near terminal stupidity on the part of those making the claims. Some ignorance I can understand, after having to explain elsewhere that completely different parts of the RF spectrum are involved in providing WiFi and cellular service, and no, 5G cellular has nothing to do with WiFi because different parts of the spectrum are involved. Because the RF spectrum is finite, coming up with the spectrum to use to provide 5G service means taking it from other things, and stuff that used to have that part of the spectrum is affected, but most folks won't be involved in those other things and have no reason to notice. (I know folks who are and do, but they're special in a specific technical manner.) ______ Dennis |

The last couple of nights several mobile phone masts were set on fire in the Netherlands, too. There was graffiti indicating it was done by anti-5G people. The biggest problem in the area surrounding the masts is that mobile phone users can't call 112 (the Dutch 911). Idiots.
