OK ... well, now I'm planning to fly to LA on Monday to pick up a new car.

So, tonight I:

1. Checked all of the Ford dealerships in New York, Miami, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles, and about 20 other major cities;

2. Found the car I want .... which is apparently the only one is the entire farking country ... at a dealership in LA;

3. Called the dealership, confirmed the car is there, negotiated a price and put down a deposit on it;

4. Called my usual pet sitter to see if she knew anyone who might be able to sit with the rest of the gang on such short notice (she and I had a good cry about Marian);

5. Called my friend Marian (who my kitty Marian was named for) and asked if she could pick me up at LAX on Monday night and drop me off at the Ford dealership on Tuesday morning (she and I had a good cry about kitty Marian);

6. Then, called her brother (my boyfriend that I haven't even seen in the last 18 months) and asked him to drive up to LA on Monday night so we could have at least some time together (he and I had already had a good cry about kitty Marian earlier in the day);

7. He suggested that he would drive up from San Diego, pick me up at LAX, and then drive me up to his sister's house, and take me to the dealership in the morning;

8. Booked the flight.

So, tomorrow I pack. Monday morning, I will load the doggies into the pet sitter's car (cause I can't put them in the rental). She and I will drive the girls into the boarding facility, and then I will drive down to the airport in Austin, drop off the rental car there (where ever Enterprise is located down there) ... and jump on the plane. Then, the next day I'll get the car and start driving back to Texas.

My life is freaking strange.

And, thanks for all the kind private messages, everyone. I'll keep in touch while I'm on the road.

Yes. They took her into surgery today, and discovered that it was inoperable. It had spread from her stomach to her liver, kidneys, pancreas, and liver. It was just all over.

So, they asked me if they should just euthanize her right then, and I said yes.

I went straight over to the animal hospital and had some time to sit with her body and just cry my eyes out. The rest of the day was a blur. I'm tired.

As for what I'm doing? Talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger and preparing to go read "A Ghost of a Chance" so I can write a review of it, which is what I promised when the author offered the book for free to those who would write a review.

I'm glad she had someone who loved her though.

First, thanks again, everyone for the kind words. I'll post a photo of the lovely girl to this message.

BOb, you wouldn't think it would be so hard to find one, but I've decided I want a:

1. Sterling Gray Lincoln MKX;
2. With a gray and camel leather interior;
3. and both the Ultimate and Elite packages.

That color combination is the only one that appeals to me. And, as far as I can tell ... after literally HOURS of hunting .... there is only one in the country at the moment. It is sitting in a car lot in Woodland Hills, CA with a big fat deposit on it waiting for me to come get it.
