Laphroaig is the Lapsang Souchong of single malts - the 10 year old - rough, peaty, dark and smoky, with lots of pine notes and some iodine/sea salt. Definitely an acquired taste -- but for my palate it is the perfect tipple for cool, damp, or cold weather.

There are other older distillations - in sherry casks - that smooth out the 'bite' -- and to my taste, take away the best of the flavor.

Yes, please, a report. (And I really do hope it all went well, though I know full results may take a bit longer...)

Drinking filtered water from the same mug I had coffee in this morning. YECH! And I suspect it will take days and days of bleach to get the residual coffee flavour out of this mug so I can use it for tea or water.

Chai this morning

Hubby was doing all the pre-transplant stuff and it all went fine. The transplant it self is scheduled for the beginning of November. The good news is that the Doctor emphasized how important it is for me to be there because Hubby is going to be hurting and need help. He seems to be willing to listen to the Doctor.
