She's too anemic to have surgery, so they are going to give her some blood tonight, and see if they can get her hematocrit up to something approaching normal and operate tomorrow. There's a large mass that is surrounding her spleen, and that's got to come out. I doubt it's benign, but there is always a slim hope, right?

I spent the rest of the day, seeing doctors and getting prescriptions filled. I also went by the local Ford dealership to see if they had any cars worth looking at. I may have found my next car .... but I'm going to need to run the numbers tonight and see what make/model is best for me.

No time to read. No time to argue about philosophical beliefs. No time to bitch and moan about Texas (and, of course, today one of the guys from the plumbing company came by to check on me and see if I needed any help with anything in the house .... why can't everybody be like that?).

I am about to take my meds again, after which I will be in a fog once again.
I'll keep you and kitty in my thoughts I hope she's OK.

I wrote your name on by forehead backwards, and everyone kept asking me for psych advice. I just gave them some ZCD Concentrate and said "Take two and call me in the morning if reality persists". They then each gave me $300. So, win-win really.

Um...err...on-topic...well, today I bought a new sofa for the atrium (and a telephone table) and finally bought my new DSLR, since I heard the price is going up significantly in a few days. Came home, went for a swim, had a spa, walked the dogs, about to have Chicken Biryani for dinner.

Cheers,
Marc

wow, i would love to have an endless supply of pies in my freezer... but even if i ever tried to do that, my freezer is not that big and it almost always crammed full already. clearly i need to fix my priorities : pie should come before broccoli, right ?

Pies before broccoli, definitely. Or put the broccoli in a pie, with some other veggies and a cheese sauce.

mmm !! broccoli pie....

speaking of food (when are we not ?) i've got a new favorite soupe : carrot, cauliflower and cumin. i started with my typical soupe base (olive oil, onions, black pepper, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, and a vegetable broth cube) and stuck the carrots in whole or cut only in half, and about equal portions of each vegetable or maybe a bit more carrots. then when everything was cooked i puréed it with my little in-the-pot mixer. you could add a potato or two but i didn't have any. a little cream would be good too but it's not necessary either.

it's so delicious you will want to make it all the time. and luckily i made a giant pot full, so i'll have to figure out a way to tetris some into my over-full freezer for lazy days when i don't feel like cooking.

it's a lovely soupe for spring time because it such a nice sunshiney orange colour. and it's a warm taste.

Oooh that soup sounds delicious. If I put potato on as well, I htink I'd stick some tumeric in too - works very well with cauli and spuds.

hm, maybe i'll try that next time. although the potato would really only be to thicken it ; the dominant taste is the sweet carrot and cumin.
