Did you like the new feedback on progress? On my large library which is NAS based a calibre2opds run can take hours, so I have been bugging David to give better feedback - and for me this new feature delivered extremely well. Now I can be much more confident as to whether calibre2opds is still working away or has somehow managed to get 'stuck' for whatever reason. In terms of performance I have a task on my TODO list to see where the overheads are on the current version to see if it can be tuned even further. |

Yeah the progress bar is awesome! That was the first thing I noticed. I connected up to it through my Android Aldiko as well as Trook using the Aldiko setting with absolutely no problems!
Great job!! |

Finding a weird anomaly when downloading with Trook.
I can download some books, but others I cannot: Getting a "exception java.io.FileNotFoundexception: /system/media/sdcard/my documents/downloads/**bookname** I CAN download it browsing from the Web and using the HTML version. Trook 1.4 is being used. EDIT: Turns out Trook can't download a books titled $@!$ My Dad Says, so I had to actually change it to say "sh_t" with the i not the underscore. Well, this is not surprising : the $ and ! characters are special to a lot of file systems, and it seems that the Nook does not like them

first of all, many thanks for this wonderful little programme!
I installed it last night, experimenting it with dropbox, and it is just wonderful. I only have one point and a question: 1) I haveinstalled the altest beta versino on my windows 7 64 bit laptop: though I get the shortcurts and all, nothing happens when I click them and in order to run the programme I must double click on the ".jar" files in the directory where they are. No big deal, but I though I'd mention it in case this is an unknown bug. 2) now the question: I am absolutely tech-unsavy, so forgive me if this is really dumb, but someone told me that calibre2Opds can also be used to transfer files between the calibre library on the pc/laptop and the dedicated ebook reader. Can anybody direct me to instructions on how to do this? My ebook reader is a Pocketbook 903. Thanks! |

Hey David.
uh... David here. ![]() I like this software a lot. However, can you make a setting that, when enabled, doesn't use Javascript in the created catalog? Here, let me show you what I'm seeing: ![]() ![]() The ^first image^ is Advanced Mode ------------- The ^second image^ is Basic Mode. Now, obviously Advanced Mode is prettier and uses fewer pages (page numbers in top right corner); However, the "Downloads, Links and other catalogs" links do not work in Advanced Mode, not even if I turn Javascript on. This is a result of the fact that the K2 Browser doesn't play well with popups. Also, (if this is easier to accomplish than the former,) for the sake of making Basic Mode a bit better, can you make it so that when the "Do not generate external/cross-reference links" checkboxes are checked, that the menu options for them don't appear either? As you can see in the image on the right, I had external links disabled, and though it didn't create external links it still shows the "external links >" option. Maybe you can set it so if you have either of those those checked, it merely comments out the appropriate menu option so you can't see it either. Last edited by chyron8472; 02-17-2011 at 12:36 AM. |

What version of calibre2opds are you using? The current version does not use Javascript!

Hello to all
I have not been here for long time. I wish to thanks to authors of this wonderful piece of software. But I have one question why there is no summary next to thumbnail? in previous version there were thumbnail, short summary and downloads links. Now I have got only thumbnail author and title and have to click on book to get to the summary and download links. It is how it should be or am I doing something wrong ? |

Oh, and also, there's this: ![]() Okay now, back to my original point. This popup that opens on mouse-over of a "Downloads, Links and other catalogs" link doesn't open on Kindle 2's Browser, so I'd like a setting to exist so that, if checked, there can be readily clickable hyperlinks instead of onmouseover javascript. Or if that's not feasable at present, I'd like Basic Mode of the Kindle Browser to only show options for downloading the ebooks, but currently if I check "Do not generate external (or cross-reference) links", the links themselves don't appear but the "external links >" and "related catalogs" options still do and I'd prefer them hidden as well. You still did not answer the question about what version you are running!
I certainly no longer get popups with the latest version (2.3). It is possibly something to do with your settings, but I do not think so as popups used to cause me a problem on my iPad, and the current pages that are not using popups work fine. Last edited by itimpi; 02-17-2011 at 10:41 AM. |
