The light on my H2O is very even. No color shifts at all. I expect the same with the Glo HD.

I find the light good enough on the H2O that I can leave it set to 5% and be able to read no problem in a dark room.

At my public library in Chicago I believe most (if not all) titles are also available in Kindle format. I never tried borrowing directly to the PW (since I really don't read on it, got it a great price and was more curious about the differences), but I would assume it would be just as easy as downloading to an epub reader. So it's somewhat surprising that not all libraries offer Kindle formats since they are available.[.quote]

I've noticed a number of titles at via Overdrive not available in any other format besides ePub. This is in the US and if you are outside the US, Overdrive and Kindle do not match at all. Kindle borrowing via Overdrive is US only. There is no Kindle borrowing outside the US. So when you look at Kobo's website at the comparison to the PW2 (Voyage not available in Canada) Kobo s correct about library borrowing.

Page turning speed has nothing to do with no many books are on the Kobo Reader. With Kindles, you keep only eBooks purchased from Amazon in the cloud. But you can keep eBooks in Dropbox to load on your Kobo as needed.

Is there any way of connecting Kobos to cloud services such as dropbox? It would be nice if we could sync across Kobo devices.
Yes, the web browser.

I find the ePub display on my H2O to be very good. What's wrong with the ePub display on your H2O?

It looks as though I shall have to wait a while longer to buy my perfect 6" ereader. I would love a fast responsive 6" 300 dpi capacitive touch with flush screen and the ability of the Kobo to tweak fonts etc and the best front lighting out, but nobody seems to make one like this. I know people say that they would rather IR touch because the extra layer needed for capacitive touch degrades the screen quality, but if Kindle can make a capacitive screen look good, why can't Kobo?

Also why aren't they putting in faster processors? I'm not talking about the speed of pages turns, but the delay in doing anything else from changing fonts to browsing your library and opening books. After using my iPhone, the H2O is ridiculously slow doing anything other than turning a page.

I don't like the big gap at the bottom. With kepubs I get a uniform display with a gap at the top and the bottom of the page. With an epub download via dropbox the text is right to the top of the page with the botton 1/4/-1/3 blank. I can't stand it.

The Kobo Patcher should be able to fix this for you. Have you tried it?

This is only an issue for epubs downloaded from a retailer and loaded directly into Dropbox, and from Dropbox downloaded to my kobo. When I don't have my PC to hand so can't use Calibre. It's why I rarely use Dropbox and prefer to load my books via Calibre as they load as kepubs.

So in this situation Calibre and all it patches are no good.

It's one of the reasons I'm not really interested in the Glo HD as it no longer has an SD card for additional storage.

No the Kobo Patcher, patches the Kobo itself. Calibre is not really relevant to your issue with bottom margin. Anyway I'm not trying to browbeat you - just to let you know that you don't need to suffer If you decide to try it and need detailed help just ask in the relevant thread in the Kobo Developer's Corner sticky.

I cringe that I'm about to "defend" something in the review , but in fairness, they did play with the "darkness" setting for pdf's on the Kindle which is likely why it looks muddy (they cranked up the darkness). They changed it near the start of talking about pdf's so it was likely that way through most of the pdf part of the review. Once again they managed to induce a reviewer created issue rather than a real problem with the device.
