Looks like this is the first time this book has ever dropped to $.99. First in a series of 3 so far, highly rated at Goodreads 4.08 with 4300 ratings, I grabbed it.

Ok, I have vowed to stop myself. This morning I went on a spending spree. I plan on shaming myself when I list my purchases. I blame the sales and my happiness at the job. But, I found a deal... A Race to Splendor by Ciji Ware for 2.99 I had to get it after reading the blurb on the page, it making me want to find out right now! I have read different books of Ciji's before and love her attention to detail and the rich historical elements in her tales. So, as one of the "enablers" of this thread, here is the blurb.

Now for the shaming. I spent 63.27. Those damn audilble sales. 7.95 a title to my mind was like half off. So for about the price of 2 credits I got 4 books. And all of the titles were on my long wishlist. Then I was on ARe and was going to by a few books then ending up telling myself to find 4 more to get my free book code. I have no self control it seems.

I got right down to wire to have zero purchases for the week then I noticed this Loveswept title on sale for $0.99 (normally $2.99). So it's going to be 1 book for me this week although I suppose I can wait a day and add them to next week's total. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do, buy it tomorrow. So it's official zero purchases for me this week! Yay me!!!

I won this in a contest and quite enjoyed it, so I'd definitely recommend it for $0.99. The second book in the series, Blaze of Winter, was quite good also. The only thing is that the hero in Deep Autumn Heat starts out pretty arrogant. He mellows somewhat over the course of the book, but if you don't like arrogant heroes you might have a problem with him. Also, the heroine made a couple of stupid moves that annoyed me. Still, I enjoyed reading it, and would rate it a "B".

Desk Jockey Jam by Ainslie Paton - Free until June 11

I have one of Ainslie's other books, Grease Monkey Jive, on my TBR. That one features ballroom dancing, has gotten good reviews at DA and Smexybooks, and was one of the introductory books for a new Australian category romance line. This one is a long novella that's follow-up but I don't think you have to read the first book. According to the blurb, the heroine skates Roller Derby at night, so I'm guessing she's not a pushover. I don't like weak heroines, so this really appeals to me.
