For all computing I consider how it will be used first. Then with an idea of whats available, read reviews next and then look for reliability info. Then I go out and do hands on.

I don't see the advantage of going by model, because you currently have 6 models of iPads per generation and 3 generations. Do you really think that it would be useful to know how many of each of the 18 models of iPads are sold each quarter?

And it will be as long as iOS only has one tablet choice. When given different choices, people will take advantage of it; thus diluting individual model sales. If Apple allowed other makers to use iOS, you'd see iPad sales drop as people buy models from other makers with different feature sets.

All the same - no, ok - all the same except for manner of connection. Memory not so big a deal. Count ipad old screen, i pad new with wireless, and ipad new with 4g. 3 models. Not so difficult.

If you mean the graph that I posted, it included everything. My point for posting that graph was that Windows has a lot of users and if MS can bring a good option for tablet OS to the market they can take a good piece of it.

Let's compare sales of the Kindle Fire with the iPad 2 64GB 3G + WiFi.

This seems like a random way to choose the categories. At least go with old/new, wifi/(wifi+3/4G), 4 models.

![]() As tubemonkey has mentioned, though, Android tablets are often seen in a generic fashion (much like computers running Windows). Since the OS is more or less the same, majority of the time, the biggest reason folks would choose one Android tablet over another is price (given both meet the minimum feature set required by the user). |
