Waiting for the work-day to be over... There's all of about...4 other people here. But, unfortunately, I cannot leave yet. I have projects that need to be done (some that I'll probably need to work on at home...joy).

And eating candied walnuts.

I have FOUR whole days off, with NO deadlines and NO school. This hasn't happened in about three years. I don't know how to act with no deadlines....

Tracking my replacement Kindle. It's already in The Netherlands, in Amsterdam, which is oh so close. I don't expect it to be delivered today (although it would be a nice Christmast present).

Preparing to open the store. We officially open at 10am but I think I'll open early today. I haven't got a clue how busy it will be today. My best guess is that it's going to be busy in the morning and quiet in the afternoon because people will start their Christmas celebrations early on their free Saturday.

I just finished uploading a video of Comet Lovejoy I created from still shots I captured this morning. My camera isn't really suitable for the job and has lots of noise, but at least the comet is somewhat visible.

So here's "Joy to the world, with Comet Lovejoy" [just wanted to use that so badly

My sister and I just booked a week at a vacation park in March. There's a spa nearby which we're going to visit so we now have to decide which package we want.

We had the opening gifts frenzy! Now all the cats are flat out sound asleep! I'm heading to the recliner with my new Xmas books to read/watch football/snooze until the turkey is done! Then more read/football/snooze until I crawl off to bed!

It doesn't get much better than this!

We had our gift opening a few hours ago and now everyone is just enjoying the day.
Hubby has tomorrow off as well (which is both rare and nice) before he heads back to the grindstone. The kids and I are home for the week, then its go...go...go...

The American Red Cross put me on "permanent hiatus" as a blood donor. Too much time in the UK since 1980. Apparently my blood might bear the taint of BSE. Sigh. I understand they don't want a repeat of the AIDS debacle, but this is an overreaction, to put it mildly.

Wow, that feels like ancient history over here. And they certainly don't stop me giving blood...

Right now, I'm trying to work out how to use my shiny new Garmin Sat Nav (GPS Navigator to our overseas friends) before setting off to visit the in-laws, 10 miles down the road

Just be sure that it sets to 'London, England' and not "London, Ontario." Reports of people driving hundreds of miles in the wrong direction using GPS in rental cars because they pushed the wrong button. On the other hand, Ontario is nice this time of year.

Or if you are my brother, you drive twice round the M25 (this is a 117 mile circular motorway around London) before realising he was starting to see things for a second time that he recognised

I stayed up to catch Comet Lovejoy again, but this time I had access to a borrowed DSLR which did a much better job.

Now I'm going to take a nap since functioning on about 3 hours of sleep isn't fun.
