Gunpowder green tea.

ETA: This is a new tea that I hadn't tried yet. It's much more intense and bitter than the other gunpowder greens that I've tried. I think I need to try it with cooler water.than the near boiling that I used this morning.

Yes, a lower temperature for China Greens, please. I'd say 180-185F would be about right, but experiment a bit. Some I'm able to enjoy at my "default" temp of 195F.

Fresh squeezed orange juice. I realized, as I was squeezing my OJ this morning, that I've been doing this every morning and every evening* for 15 years now. I completely wore out one Waring Pro Juicer already, and well on the way to wearing out another.

Evenings are because I hate taking pills with water! So 4 oranges (138 size) worth of juice in the morning with breakfast, and 2 oranges worth in the evening for pills. I don't think I need to worry about scurvy.

I'd been brewing most of my teas hotter after your suggestion with the Darjeeling a while ago. There are certainly still some that I prefer with cooler water, but this particular green surpised me with its intensity in a way that others haven't. I'm hoping that it translates into a more flavorful green rather than just being too astringent and bitter at any temperature.

Also try shortening the brewing time. A good green can often be steeped for only one to two minutes.
