Getting ready to go to the dentist. Hopefully for the last time this year. Not really nervous this time, although I'm not looking forward to the time when the anaesthetic has worn off and the coming days when that side of my mouth and jaw is sore.
I also decided I want the Asus Transformer Prime (with docking station so it's also a netbook). I haven't yet found a good reason besides that it's a lot easier to take with me when house sitting and on holiday than my notebook but I want a shiny new toy to play with. |

Thank you.
I just got back and on the one hand it was easier than last time, because I knew what was going to happen on the other hand it was harder because the stupid tooth didn't want to come out. It didn't only have a normal curve in it but also a curve to the side. But with a great deal of pushing and pulling it did come out in one piece. My neck is already sore and my ear is joining in with the fun, there is also a lot more swelling and I expect that I'll get a headache and very sore jaw when the anaesthetic has worn off so after I can take out the second gauze I will take a painkiller, hoping it will kick in before the other wears off. But on the bright side: no stitches! Despite the forced used the wound was neat so I didn't need any. Also, I don't have to come back for another half year for a regular check up. Two weeks ago I got mouth wash but he didn't tell me I only had to use it for 5 days, I've been using it for two weeks now, LOL. I might or might not have enough left for another 5 days so I did get a new bottle because I'd rather not run out during the weekend. Now I'm just waiting until the gauze can come out, after that I'm going to curl up in bed with either a dvd or a good book. |

Good news, eventually. Glad to hear.
Currently sipping some cafe con leche, browsing the forums, looking at wedding stuff. Slower day today compared to yesterday, thankfully. |

I'm currently waiting for RIFT to get out of maintainence so I can play. Seriously, I log on and am told that the servers would be going offline in five minutes. Guess I won't be sleeping as much as I would like tonight.

I gave RIFT a fair shake, but in the end, it never grabbed me. Here are the only MMO's I have ever played:
WoW - ~900 hours in 10 months EQ - ~350 hours RIFT - 10 hours |

Redesigning my computer room.
I've been slowly cleaning up this room and it still needs a lot of work but I'm getting there. At the moment I have an L-shaped Ikea desk which is made up out of two parts and I'm thinking of taking apart the longer section. My room only has one free wall, the others have either doors, a low window or a big chimney breast and so the longer desk is sticks out right in the middle of the room, taking up a lot of space. Since I only use it to put junk on it I think it's time to take it apart and store it in the attic. I'm also getting rid of a cd-case and I'll move my book case to that wall. Where the bookcase now is I want to put a small table or desk I can use for my make-up, when I need to do any writing or when I want to use my notebook in that room. Hopefully I can make it a lot more inviting and also use it again to read and relax instead of only as a computer room and a way through to my bedroom. |

I'm wondering just how much Internet shopping will affect shopping mall attendance. When I first moved to Asia, I did most of my grocery shopping in little Mom&Pop shops; the greengrocer, the chicken/egg store, the pickle shop (Japanese pickles are eaten with most meals) the rice shop, the pork store, etc., only buying some canned goods at the small newfangled supermarkets. Today, most of the Mom&Pop stores are gone and the supermarkets are like those in major Western countries.
With the coming of Wal-mart, Cost-co, Amazon, and the convenience of on-line shopping, I'm just wondering if the age of the mega-mall has passed... Stitchawl |

I was hopeful that everyone was shopping online, but sadly it was not to be, so when I went to the supermarket (which is in an airconditioned shopping centre), there were loads of people wandering around (very slowly too) You can't get a photo taken with santa online. The boozer (on the way to the shopping centre) was packed out with old people. Only the staff, me and one other bloke was under 65. which makes me wonder whether the younger set are getting their booz online. i have been bombarded with Amex offers if I get my booze online.
