I told my dentist "I got bad teeth from both sides of the family. Mom and dad both had full upper and lower dentures when they died. My remaining original teeth are going one by one, and all you are doing is delaying the inevitable. How about we skip over the going one by one part and go directly to where I will end up anyway?" She agreed it made sense, and it took a bit, but that was what happened. Aside from having to carry dental cement with me and refreshing it on the lower plate before I eat so my teeth don't float around in my mouth, it's trouble free.

The fortunate part was that I had very few actual toothaches. The teeth just crumbled away. My dentist was surprised but pleased at the relative lack of pain. She couldn't possibly be more pleased than I was...

I can't either. I'll be applying for financial aid on the bill. Hubby makes a little over minimum wage at the moment but it's a low stress job with no people interaction but boss and one other guy. It's perfect for him. It's not a temp service job either.

This horrible year is almost over. Worst year of my life. I should write a book about this year.

I am afraid the tooth around the rod is also deteriorated. how do they fix something like that? The dental cement from CVS is not holding the tooth so I will be reglueing it in over and over till I can get to a dentist

I've never heard or seen the term "autobot" before.

My rant for the day - Apparently the makers of TV shows assume everyone has a huge TV. Onscreen text keeps getting smaller. For example, if character is reading a note or letter that is shown but not read aloud, half the time it's too small to read. The actual film of people, scenery, etc hasn't changed size in recent years; they are still watchable. It's just the onscreen text size that has shrunk.

I got a Roku a while back and most of the menus are in tiny print. At one point I found a forum with a thread about it and one person said he kept binoculars handy for use with his Roku.

The fix is a root canal to remove the deteriorated root, and then either an implant or a bridge.

Dental cement is purely a cosmetic move in this case, hopefully holding the tooth in place so you aren't gap toothed in public, but forget about trying to eat using it.

It has no root. there is a post down the middle of the tooth. It was put in like 35 years ago so I believe they did a root canal then put in the post straight down the middle. like a giant metal toothpick.

the dentist got me in 730 am Monday morning to do a quick re-cement.

I did that last month. So easy to do and mines so old. I had jail broken it and had set up to a very old firmware that allowed custom fonts. Now it's too much work to do that all over again so it's collecting dust.

well my tooth flew out when I sneezed and had to hunt for it, zoomed to the dentist hoping he can help before monday. they put a weak cement in so they can pop it off easy for I need the crown replaced so i can not bite on it till i get a new crown in a few weeks

Sorry you had an unpleasant experience in the hospital.

I was in the ER Saturday for dehydration. Stomach virus. I received two bags of fluids and left. Process took about 3 hours. Doc and nurse were capable. Still, I'd rather not repeat the whole thing.

Woke up with a throat infection. I had planned on going to the cinema and dinner afterwards with my sister tomorrow. After that I would stay the night at her place. I think I can manage the cinema and dinner, but I don't think it's a good idea to stay over at her place.

Usually a throat infection also means I'll get a cold, but not so far, keeping my fingers crossed. A throat infection heals quicker than a cold.

On the other hand, I'd rather have a throat infection/cold now than in two weeks' time when I'm going on vacation.

You seem to get more than your fair share of colds and upper respiratory issues. Hope this one goes away quickly!

I hope you're feeling better. Dehydration is why I made myself go even knowing the expenses and process to get it covered. I had not drank water in two days. I was really sick. If I took just a sip it caused terrible pain. The doctors didn't seem overly concerned. I had to ask for IV fluids then had trouble with the nurse to give me them. Last time I was there in January same nurse and did the same thing, she didn't give me IVs the doc ordered.

I'm fighting an infection in the left side of my neck and right above the clavicle. So that has something to do with all of this including the inflammation. Blood work shows wbc is good so it must be localized which is why the doctors didn't catch it. They seldom touch you in the ER anymore they rely on blood tests for everything. They just ask where the pain is I told them under my chin all he said was hmm...The lymph nodes on the left side of my neck and clavicle are swollen, tender a bit burning and they swell it can push on nerves in my neck resulting in some crazy symptoms. Hot flash, blood pressure spike, palpitations, skin crawling, clammy, chills, cold flash, shaking, burning nerve pain in arms and the weirdest one having to run to the bathroom every few minutes because my intestines are spasming and there is pressure in my left big toe. Last time I was out of it I suddenly passed out and started snoring. It freaked hubby out. He figured long as I was snoring I'd be okay. That vagus nerve is no joke. We found holding my head to the right or laying on my right side with my head on a pillow stopped the symptoms after the first attack. We tested it as long as I kept my head tilted to the right I was okay but the minute I moved it back it started up again. So basically keeping space between my left shoulder and neck stops these crazy episodes.

We are treating it with sinus rinse, Airbourne, Motrin, water and chicken soup. So far so good just mild burning pain where the lymph nodes are.

Working in my family's store you come into contact with a lot of viruses. It doesn't look too bad this time. I now merely have a dry and raw throat and am somewhat sniffly and sneezy. With a bit of luck it's gone away in a couple of days.

Everyone that works in retail of any kind battles the same sort of never-ending exposure. Only teachers in elementary schools and doctors/healthcare workers have it worse, I think. ;-)

I swear by Airborne--not to prevent jack, but for some weirdo reason, it makes me feel slightly better or less ill when I take it, once a cold starts.
