I didn't have a choice on the battery at the dealership but they did say that it is one where the price of replacing it is prorated based on age.

Ah, dealership. Yes, you take what they give you, basically. Yup, I get it.
Coffee this morning. Major Dickason's. Though I'm not sure even that will be enough. |

Well, the car wouldn't start and was under 30,000 miles so I thought the dealership made the most sense. I thought it was still under warranty. (shrugs)

Glad to hear the asthma is settling down. Not fun, as I well know!
Done with caffeinated beverages for today. Switching to faux San Pellegrino. |

I hear that, pooh!
By the way, if the chicken is going to come visiting, s/he needs to be ready to bunk with some new girls. More chickens coming to the Taj maHen today. (Our single remaining hen was getting lonely, so we have three new hens coming this afternoon.)Still hitting the faux San Pellegrino. |

So humid & sticky tonight -- definitely a night for an Ardbeg slushie ... Errr ... not to get too personal ... what did happen to the former residents of the Taj maHen? Natural causes?

Mostly natural causes (ie, old age.) These are ISA Browns, a pure laying hen, and they really only live about 3 years. Though I did have one that lasted nearly 4 1/2 years. Of the last batch, however, one succumbed to a predator. (I TOLD her not to play with the raccoons, but would she listen? No! )
I'm sure they'll be impressed with the shiny gold crown. But no Ardbeg Slushies for them. The eggs go directly to Scotch Eggs, and they just don't work for my breakfast.

Unfortunately, one of the "problems" with modern cars is the level of automation. The computer will compensate for a developing problem ... until it can't anymore. In the 70s through the 90s I could feel a battery problem before it reached the point that the car wouldn't start. Now, the computer masks the symptoms until it's too late. I got nailed by that problem myself a few years ago.
I will put in a plug for AAA -- they've come through for me several times! And, I'm glad to hear that things are going better. |

We have Nation Wides Roadside service and that has been awesome. We have not paid for a tow or a jump when we have had to call them. The Tow Truck driver I had was a nice guy and very chatty. He commented that it was a good thing that we had the higher level, the one that paid up to $75 for a tow, because the lower levels didn't even cover the hook up charges. The service was fast, professional and easy to use.
I started taking my Singular last night, my Doctor was hoping that I could avoid that but I was starting to cough more as the day went on and decided after a short attack at 9 PM that it wasn't worth risking it. The air quality last week was awful and I go for a lot of walks at work so I am guessing that triggered the asthma. I felt my chest tighter Friday night and Saturday but didn't have an inhaler. I won't make that mistake again. Carry the stupid thing even if I don't have an attack for ages... Camel's Breath in my cup. |
