I need to make a dental appointment. I canceled my last one a month or so ago because of a scheduling conflict, and now I have a chipped tooth and a toothache.

If I were rich, I'd have them all pulled and replaced with carbon implants.

I'm looking for new health care insurance for next year.

I thought that when I got my current one I also got an extra dental insurance but I couldn't find it listed on my monthly bills or the new policy for next year so I assumed I forgot to get one. Today in preparation for comparing different insurances I found (in a very illogical place on the website) that I am insured for the dentist. It didn't say what type of dental insurance so I called them to find out. I'm glad I found it out, next week is my last big appointment when not only my last wisdom tooth is extracted but several fillings are going to be replaced and the insurance will cover a big part of the bill.

But the difficulty in finding out what your insured for is another reason for me to switch.

1. Wake up at normal time (6 am) by cats insisting it's a week day - we're hungry.
2. Watch Macy's parade with kitten napping on lap.
3. Stumble around house trying to restore circulation to legs after the parade ends. [kitten weighs 12 pounds at 1-year-old]
4. Place turkey in sink to begin cooking preparations.
5. Remove kitten from sink.
6. Wrestle netting & plastic wrap off of turkey.
7. Wrestle kitten from sink.
8. Locate & remove gravy pack, etc.
9. Locate & remove kitten from sink.
10. Season turkey & place in floured baking bag.
11. Remove seasoning jars from kitten and dust flour off kitten.
12. Place turkey in oven.
13. Remove kitten from stove top.
14. Open trash bag to throw out all turkey wrappings, etc.
15. Remove kitten from trash bag and add turkey wrappings.
16. Check trash bag for kitten before tying shut.
17. Take trash bag out to the trash cans while waving to kitten sitting in the kitchen window.
18. Remove kitten from kitchen counter.
19. Clean & disinfect all counters & sink.
20. Dry off kitten feet & fur.
21. Set oven timer, open Guinness bottle, and head for the recliner.
22. Watch NFL football with kitten napping on lap, both of us sniffing the roasting turkey smells.

It doesn't get much better than this!

Rumpelteazer, hopefully, you will be all done with dental appointments by the end of the year and all you will have to have are check-ups and cleaning appointments from now on.

I'm waiting for pies to cool down and to pack them up for Thanksgiving at my brother's house. Yum, pumpkin, peach, lemon, berry, cherry, apple, and mincemeat.

Thanksgiving and family. Iowa and 70 degrees? Turkey with giblet dressing and gravy. Roasted sweet potatoes and roasted beets? Pumpkin pie made from fresh pie pumpkins. Home-made crusts made with vodka?? Brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews but no parents or grandparents? Somethings don't change much. Others do. I'm grateful anyway. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
