Working on Peet's Major Dickasons followed by a fresh pot of Darjeeling.

Four years old. He is very excited. He has a big boy bed to sleep in and new sheets. He choose Frozen (Olaf the snowman themed) and Paw Patrol for his bed. He gets to have ice cream sandwiches with his classmates for snack, pick out cupcakes for dessert and rainbow pancakes with chocolate chips for dinner. And there are presents! To say that I have a hyper 4 year old is an understatement.

And all I can think of how special a child he is. He has a great smile and giggle. He is persistent (stubborn dependent on my mood), loving, silly, smart, observant, and cautious. He speaks his mind and is great to take out on adventures or dinner. He really is a great kid.

Yesterdays drama was shots. The last four vaccinations Little Man needs. Little Man did not appreciate getting shots. Nope, not in the least bit. I am talking, carried out of the office because he refused to walk, wouldn't push elevator buttons, wouldn't open his car door, cry the entire way home and only stop crying halfway into Thomas and with trail mix in his hands upset.

Last night he didn't want to take a bath because the bath water might take the band aids off his legs and then his shot holes would hurt again. This morning he couldn't do anything until he showed his father his wounds.

Shots are a big deal. And I am thrilled that we are done with them. Except for the flu shot, which Little Man reminded me we would all need to get but which he was already worried about because, well, he does not like getting shots.

I don't think any small person enjoys shots, and most don't even much tolerate them. But it's really tough to get hit with four separate ones at one visit. Even I'd find that a bit much, however necessary and appropriate. Tell him he has my sympathies!

This morning, a mug of Murchie's English Breakfast Blend tea. Though drinking it is a bit tricky, with the back molar needing a root canal (which it will get today.)

So I have been working at my current job since 2007. I received an email today welcoming me to the job and apologizing that one of our Directors had not met with me because she likes to meet all the new PhDs in the building. I responded that I would be happy to meet but that I had been in the building since 2007. I am having fun with this.
