Last evening I started reading a book called Monster Hunter International (Monster Hunter International #1) by Larry Correia! I am also reading 4 other books. I keep pausing during the read of each of these books as I stumble on another book that inspires my interest. Hopefully this book has stopped that behavior as I'm finding it almost as much fun to read as The Dresden Files! Thanks Lea, for mentioning this book at the right moment!

If you like his Monster Hunter International series, then I suggest you check out his Grimnoir Chronicles series as well. Sort of a alternative history monster hunter series.

Indeed, MHI sounds promising, so I will give this one a try.
As I trust your suggestions, I went for the omnibus edition combining the first 3 books - that one is reasonably priced indeed. Best regards, Andy |

![]() Scholastic has announced that the seven Harry Potter books will each get new illustrated covers in the fall of 2013. They will be designed by Kazu Kibuishi, a Tokyo-born graphic novel author and illustrator. ![]() |

Another suggestion from other forums with Dresden files threads (this one from Goodreads actually):
"London Falling" by Paul Cornell. Have just read (and enjoyed) that one. The unusual thing (in the fantasy genre) was that that the protagonists (London policemen) get confronted with an evil spirit and need to come up with conventional ways to battle it, not having any expierence or exposure to magic. This is supposedly the first book in a yet-to-be-written longer series. Best regards, Andy |

Omnibus eh?
Was that over at Amazon? I'll have to check, as Kobo didn't seem to have the series, it's been awhile since I bought anything via the Kindle Store, hope Uncle Alf is up to date ![]() Thanks for the reccy, Lea and Alan. EDIT: Just like ridin' a bike. As soon as I'm finished Col Bailey's "Shadow of the Thylacine", I'm diving back into fiction again with Monster Hunters. Thanks for the heads up on the Omnibus Edition, Andy_T. Last edited by AlbertaCowboy; 02-03-2014 at 12:27 PM. |
