It didn't sound rude to me, I'm used to the question. I did an international course where during the first half of the school year we studied in Amsterdam and the second half at the University of Wolverhampton. Everyone on our course got asked at least several times a week why we wanted to study in WLV if you could study all year in Amsterdam. The first two years I stayed at the Walsall campus and the last year I lived on the Wolverhampton campus.

Next year my sister and I are planning to go to Dublin next September but I know that in a couple of years I'll go back to visit the West Midlands again.

Thank you.
I would love to do more with photography besides taking pictures on days out or on holiday but I can't motivate myself enough even if there are nice things to take pictures of nearby.

You must have an eye for it. I am so jealous. Maybe you could go out to Roper Bar for me and take some for my web site. The ones that I took are not so flash.

My intention for next year (like it was for the last couple of years) is to get myself to make more pictures. I would love to get a DSLR but I can't justify it to myself if I'm not using it regularly.

In other news:
My new heater is finally hooked up and working. Not only that but compared to the old one it's quiet. Which means that I can now leave the door open between my two rooms (the old heater sounded like blowtorch). Right in time because the last couple of mornings it was very cold in my bedroom. Very happy now!

Right now I am feeling lucky! I was wrestling with stuff in the fridge to get the vegemite out for some toast, when a container of Taramosalata dip flew out and onto the floor! OMG I thought as I stared at the lid on the floor. But when I moved the fridge door to see the damage, the dip had landed the right way up! yippee!

Luck be with me today!

A few weeks ago I found a Cuisinart ice cream maker at the thrift store for 6 dollars. I had looked at getting one back during the summer, but couldn't really justify the expense. OMG, I love it. I'm freezing everything. A few minutes ago I dumped in 3 small cartons of strawberry-banana greek yogurt along with about 2 cups of half-and-half and let it do its thing for 20 minutes. So delicious. Yum.

That would be good, but all the half eaten jars of various types of pesto and jam and marmalade would learn it too.

What a great idea. I have an ice cream maker, but only a little freezer on top of the fridge. No space to freeze the bowl (I could chuck out all the food) Maybe this year the fridge will die and we can get a new one with a bigger freezer

I'm thinking about learning 2 languages at the same time. Should I? Has anyone done that? How did you manage it?

My mother did that with French and Spanish. You should have heard her...

No, I don't recommend it unless you are VERY good with languages. Your skill with English is superb but I know that you began it at a young age. One at a time is wiser.

I agree with Stitchy. I'm not great at languages (though I was bilingual as a child), and the thought of trying two at once would be horrendous. I can't imagine how you would manage it without getting mixed up between the two.

Right now I'm working (and not working, as you can see...)
