Congratulations!! Those subjects just put the fear in me and make my eyes glaze over, so I am very impressed!

Yes, since Thursday I've been paying much more attention to my breathing and it's gone again. According to my physio it's hyperventilation. I can understand what brought it on last week (lots of little things) but not what's brought it on two months ago. He gave me an exercise to do when it comes on again.

GPA here in the U.S. stands for Grade Point Average. A 4.0 is all "A"s, or a perfect score. 3.75 is damn close!

A GPA of 3.0 would be all "B"s, 2.0 all "C"s, and a 1.0 GPA would be a "D" average.

LOL basically a "club" for people with good grades! Yeah it's a little silly but they do hold a certain amount of prestige here. With this one, also some practical concerns - if you're a member they will provide resume letters of recommendation for you. Basically, being listed as a member of an honor society at university level shows a prospective employer that not only do you have a degree, you got excellent grades in the process.

Look up Phi Beta Kappa, that should give you a better idea.

Thanks to all for the congratulations. I'm still wildly excited. The one GPA calculator I used shows that these A's should get my GPA up to 3.75 and therefore I will be eligible, but I haven't gotten anything from my advisor, so I won't know until and unless I do. Grades were due to the dean today (both my instructors got them posted early), so I may have up to a week to wait to find out anything. Believe me, if I get that email that I'm eligible, everyone in a mile radius will know it.... *grin*. And then I'll come tell y'all.

DG, you asked what's next. Well, the end of these classes marked my becoming a "senior" - I have exactly a year to go. The next session of classes will be Organizational Change and Social Issues & Technology. I have the books already, and I looked at the Social Issues & Tech. one, hoping it'd be about social media and business, but it's not. Apparently it's examining how technology advances human knowledge.

Oh, I see, thank you! Here we get diplomas with "mentions": honorable, which means you passed, good, very good and "félicitations du jury", which means your average was above 18/20 (I think). I never got any, which rather annoyed my parents.

Speaking of diplomas, Chris just received his for that first Master's Degree, and it says "with distinction". He finished the coursework for the degree back in July, it takes them forever to get you the actual diploma, though.
He's already deep in coursework for the second Master's, an MBA (Master of Business Administration).

I just got an email that my Oberon cover (The Medici in chocolate) has been sent. Hopefully it'll arrive soon and won't be held up too long at customs, until that time I'll probably check the status every couple of hours (if not more often).
