It's very simple.

Lie down and focus on your stress (or how you were feeling when you were stressed last). Then focus on where you are feeling it when breathing and put your hand on that spot. Keep focussing on your hand and the spot it's on. When you feel yourself calming down move your hand lower to where your breathing is then (it can be small steps or bigger steps). Repeat until you're calmed down, if necessary you can breath your hand all the way down to your legs although I don't know how you should do when your arm isn't long enough.

It's quite similar to the exercise I did which I know helps calm me down.

Right now I'm installing my new computer *again*. I got a phone call this morning that it was ready to be picked up. Luckily they already installed Windows and the drivers for me. I'm now copying back my files and after that I'm going to install software. They put in a new hard drive, hopefully that solves the problem and it isn't some obscure, hard to find incompatibility problem between hardware components (knock on wood).

I was very tempted not to name my computer after a character from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy but name it Murphy. I didn't because it might just be tempting faith.

Sounds like either a fall, or he got snagged trying to slip under a fence or gate or something and strained his lower back trying to pull through. When cats get unexpectedly "hung up" on something, they tend to panic and jerk with all their strength trying to get free. Keep a close eye on him!

Luckily he's very practical and instead of telling me not to worry so much, like everybody up to now has been telling me (but they never can tell how not to worry) he gave me an exercise how calm down when feeling stressed. I got another appointment for next week.
I am glad you are getting on top of it. A trick a friend told me once was instead of thinking 'don't panic', think 'remain calm'. Apparently making the thought or instruction a postitive works better than trying NOT to do something.

Update. A good night and Mr M appears much better this morning. A fe minutes ago he asked to go out to the sand pit (left over from blokes building/paving and in the shed open to the front. (he will only use the box or garden as a last resort.

Little bugger! After a wee, he ran off (first run since Wed), and it was all I could do to catch him. He is really going to hate this last day being stuck indoors now that he is feeling better.

Mr. M is a resilient cat. And I like that "remain calm" tip.

Compulsively clicking "refresh" on my browser open to the window for my grades. I'm anxious to see how I did on both finals.

Comics, sometimes magazines, but no books unless they are absolutely, positively, unavailable in a format for one of my ereaders. And even then they tend to get ignored for the longest time. There are far better things to read books on besides tablets.

I do use the iPad for other things, though, and I'd glad I bought it. It's wonderful for writing. The virtual keyboard is so easy to use that I've almost completely lost interest in the physical keyboard/dock I bought for it.

DG, you must have a direct line..... What I'm doing is jumping up and down like a crazy person.... grades are in and.....

drum roll please....

92.5 final grade for Finance, with a 160 out of 175 on the final project.

96.4 for Staffing... with a PERFECT SCORE on the final!!!!!!!

And for the best news.... this MIGHT shoot me up to a 3.75 cumulative GPA, which is what I need for eligibility into the new honor society!!! (New for the school I'm at, I mean. It's a chapter of the National Honor Society). I was at a 3.72 cumulative GPA.

My parents would have said; "Why didn't you get a 99?" (They didn't expect me to be perfect...)

This is just so fantastic! It's worth all the study, and the pain, and all the effort, when you can get results like this!
Congrats, Shel! Wonderful news!
