Actually, I rather like her two freckles which were removed.

No no. That would not work. A part the permission paper from Wife, that could be easily falsified. Pardon me, produced. At my place it could not possibly work, I was thinking of your place actually. She looks worth a long trip, acrooss even troubled waters. And a full load of lies. But then, 23. It is really way too young for me. Lately, in the last n years or so i find myself more inclined to the 35 braket, plus/minus something. Although, she is really pretty. Well, you certainly got me thinking. It is the mouth that is very attractive. No, no, what if I fall in love? Nah. Of two, practically identical except beauty marks. Hey, that could be a story. Imagine the complications, the eqivocs. The squared occasions of making a fool of me. Too much, man. I think I have to pass on this one. Too young. Too young?

I just watched the trailer of The Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe. I love the book and the play (seen it 3 times) and I was afraid they would "Hollywood-ize" the story, IMO the story is scary because of what you're not seeing. The trailer looks promising, some changes have been made it to the story it seems but the atmosphere of the trailer is spot on in comparison with the play.

I'm definitely going to reread the book when I finish Shogun.

Most people don't. And most people forget that they have always 'known' that TV and movie folks get a ton of heavy cosmetic work before they go in front of the camera. We see it being done all the time but never stop to think that 'we' could benefit from the same help when we step in front of the lens!

The girl's image was corrected using PhotoShop. It took me less than five minutes to do so, using only 4-5 of the available buttons. I am NOT a skilled PhotoShop user. Any graphic artist who uses it daily could do a MUCH better job.

I agree. But this was corrected for the Asian market. That market doesn't like freckles. In the West, a nice golden skin is the epitome of beauty, and we have tanning salons everywhere. In Asia, the goal is different, and you can find row after row of 'Skin Whiteners' in every drug store. But removing the two freckles was the least of it. (There were actually four of them...) She has skin blemishes all over her face, forehead, and chest that were removed. The color of her lips was saturated. Her hair was brought to life. Her skin was smoothed over. The red was taken away from her eyes. And the all-over exposure was adjusted. In short... I put on her make-up.

I don't think that is strictly true anymore. As digital has removed the cost barrier for amateurs, letting them shoot as many photos as they want. And even delete the less desirable ones immediately.

Hmm.

Anyway, right now I'm looking for a PMP to replace my "Smartphone"* (long story). I'm torn between an iPod touch, which I could share apps between my iPad, or a larger and more feature rich Android device like the Archos 5 IT.

*Frankly I'm not sure the BB Storm even deserves to be called this. It's more like a Messaging Phone.

I use an iPhone (which of course contains the iPod Touch) and love it. I rarely use the phone function, but all the other Apps come in very handy. It took me a couple of months to get it set up the way I like, but once I did I haven't changed anything in the past year or so.

... to say nothing of the subliminal messages embedded into images today. Have a read of 'The Clam Plate Orgy' for some serious discussions of advertising trickery... Skulls in ice cubes for liquor ads, "Cancer" and other 'death words' in cigarette ads... Sexual messages all over "TV Guide" advertisements.

Fortunately, there was some 'crack down' of the practices and of advertisements over the last few years. It really was getting out of hand when the N.Y. "Yellow Pages" had a photo of a 12 year old girl standing on the thick book to reach something on a high shelf, and the airbrushed message "Fu@k Me" on her leg subliminally added... I remember the scandal that rose over that one! (Early 80's?)

If I understand you correctly, that doesn't seem wise. If I showed up expecting a boat in better condition than it really is because of a manipulated photo, I'd be quite upset.

I doubt that our Sneaky one is requesting anything other than my arrival with paint brush in hand, and a 6-pack under my arm with plans of whitewashing the fence for her.

But... If it were just on paper....

Sneaky, here is one where I didn't touch the boat at all. I just corrected the rest of the photo to make the boat more 'visible' amidst the clutter of the boatyard. There is no 'trickery' or deceptive advertising used, so you can use this one to advertise the boat sale without worry about people being upset at a fake boat photo. It's how the boat 'should have been' photographed in the first place.

You can save the image by right-clicking on it.
