I had a bit of a decentish single malt last night - the Macallan Amber. Wouldn't be my first choice, but was respectable, if a bit "light". OTOH, tonight was Johnnie Walker Red at a friend's house. I'd rather have had water, honestly.

Finished off the year with a bottle of Stellar's Jay, a reasonable and inexpensive BC sparkling wine, and friends. A good way to end.

This morning? Peet's Major Dickason's Blend coffee.

Coke Zero from my late night grocery run. Very pleasant trip -- the store was almost empty. I suspect most folks are still recovering from New Year's Eve celebrations, and won't be desperate for groceries until tomorrow.

Last night was pizza and Champagne -- one of life's perfect combinations. The pizza was made from scratch by my DW, and the Champagne was Charles Heidsick non-vintage. The yeasty Charlie is a perfect match for pizza and made for a very enjoyable evening.

This morning? Major Dickason's Blend.

Swung by a new purveyor of spirituous liquors (gave up trying to find Port Charlotte in Durham) and Behold! Full shelves of Scotch - including Port Charlotte and Talisker Storm. Having a wee dram tonight ...

Nice. Sadly, I know for a fact that there's no more of the Port Charlotte here in BC. Though there's plenty of Talisker Storm. But there is that Octomore sitting down in Gibsons, calling to me....

A busy day, getting caught up with my tech review gig and starting the process of getting ready to go away for a week. Not easy with all the complications.

Finishing the day with a reasonable Keemun and then some faux San Pellegrino.
