This evening, several glasses of Ridge Geyserville. And a faint hope that I manage to avoid the red-wine headache from it.

I'd rather a good Pinot with the duck I'm cooking, but this Zinfandel will have to do. Life is tough, but we manage.

First tea of the day. But if my stomach doesn't get it's act together soon, I'll be switching to a ginger tea.

A glass of fresh squeezed orange juice right now, with some Anniversary Breakfast Blend in my near future. I've got to smoke bacon today, rebuild a server, configure remote access, and get ready to leave tomorrow morning for a float plane to Vancouver and then to the Island. WAY too much to do all at once, but I didn't time this bacon right and it had to come out of the cure last night or it would end up over-cured by the time I'm back at the end of the week. Sigh.

Not serious, just a combination of Christmas food (too much, too rich), an aging stomach (that has become accustomed to routine) and "discussions" (political and otherwise) with relatives I don't see very often. Nothing worse than some heartburn overnight, and the associated sleep loss.

I ate lightly today, topping it off with a tall glass of water.

Well, after a fairly smooth and completely uneventful float plane ride, I'm in the hotel and supposed to be working. But, of course, i'm here first.

A bottle of Diet Coke while I settle in, looking out on the main runway. Feels weird to be staying in an airport hotel when I'm not getting on a flight in the morning, but catching a ride with my boss for this gig and taking the Ferry. But it's all good. And this is one of my favourite hotels.

That sounds good right now, Bilbo. I've been slaving away on this gig for the last couple of days and I admit, it's getting to me. They have a coffee machine in the office, but nothing else, and there's no easy way to get a decent cuppa. And I miss my faux San Pellegrino - I feel like I'm thirsty most of the day. OTOH, they've been long days at a quite respectable hourly rate, so one shouldn't quibble.
