alcohol is after all one of the five food groups. I cannot see why it should be excluded from chocolate. After all two of the others (fat and sugar) are included.

It's the last couple of day of house sitting. My friends originally planned to return on Monday but the drive to their camp site in France took a day shorter than planned which means they also could be back on Sunday. Because I don't feel like cleaning the house on Saturday evening after I've worked all day I'm going to start today with the upstairs and tomorrow I'm cleaning downstairs. Not my favourite chore but if they don't return on Sunday I can have a lazy day.

Although I love cat Rovertje and dog Lyca very much I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again and not having to plan my day around Lyca's walks.

. But I remember them being more fun when I was little. Back in those days you had to build the surprise toy. Last time I had one it was just some finished plastic figure

, now where's the fun in that! No building required.

Here in the U.S., Cracker Jacks used to have some pretty good prizes in the box. These days, it's usually just a slip of paper with some blurred food coloring that calls itself a temporary tattoo.

Cleaning my friends' home. As I expected they are returning on Sunday. I'm now waiting for the half of the floor of the downstairs to dry so I can move things around and mop the second half.

I've been here for over two weeks and imho keeping it clean is one of the things you do when house sitting. But I must say it's hard with a dog that's shedding, already I can see hair all over the floor again.

I'm really looking forward sleeping in my own bed again. Although for how long I don't know, my uncle visited a couple of weeks ago and told me he and my aunt might go on holiday again this year and asked if I was available to look after cat Guusje.

Just finished a "week from Hell" at work and relaxed tonight watching "Humoresque" on TCM - which I consider one of Joan Crawford's finest performances. Or at least one of the finest cinematography efforts to showcase her face in B&W! Her face was made to be filmed in B&W!

My friends just called that they were in a car accident in France. The car with caravan in front of them suddenly braked hard because some animal ran into the road and my friend couldn't stop in time. Luckily nobody's hurt, their van is a write off but their caravan is probably okay.

They don't know how and when they are returning now. They're a member of the ANWB (Dutch AA) so they take care of that but since a lot of people are returning home from holiday this weekend it all depends on available resources. Chances are it will be sleepless night waiting to hear something.

Me too!

If the ANWB can't arrange transport back soon my father might go pick them up (if his car can pull a heavy caravan).

It's unknown when they come back, maybe tomorrow but it can also be Monday or later. My father's picking up most of my stuff tonight (unless my friends can't find a place to stay for the night). I've kept extra clothes in case they come back on Monday. If it takes longer I'll have to pick up extra clothes after the weekend.

The dog seems to know something is going on and acts very nervous, poor thing.

Right now, listening to music while I wait for the dryer. We went to DeKalb in the Tracker today (on the spur of the moment like most of our weekend trips to DeKalb). In lieu of the spoonrest which they didn't have in the color I wanted, I got two more bowls for my Fiesta collection (The Gusto bowls in Tangerine and Peacock) and Chris got a mic, stand, and a guitar to usb cord. He's currently in the process of rearranging our back room, aka the music room. I think CWatkinsNash is inspiring him to do some recording of his own.
Bought a new denim purse last week, which means it's perfect for "decorating" I just got done putting two Glee patches on it and my author buttons (Ellery Adams and Heather Webber. Wish more authors would give buttons!).
Last night my night manager and his g/f came over after closing and we visited til sometime around 3 a.m. I think. Was fun, we don't do that very often. (I might mention here that we close at midnight, LOL).
