Some people get a bit carried away getting their single malt. http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/b...uver-1.3309276

Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend. And I'm really hoping that they do an Anniversary Breakfast Blend next spring. They're NOT doing a Holiday Breakfast Blend. Instead, three different holiday flavoured teas. Yech. One is the Winter Solstice citrusy blend they used to do, plus two other flavoured blends. One with chocolate, one with vanilla. Not even a little interesting.

Funny, so did I the first time.
Spent the day making sausage. Kielbasa, Mexican Chorizo, and breakfast patties. The first two of those need to marry for a couple of days before being ground and stuffed. And the kielbasa will be smoked. A Peet's Major Dickason's Blend coffee in my cup. |

A nice Pu erh from home.
I am working in a meal replacement shake for breakfast. I went with GNC's Lean Machine 25 Chocolate. I mix it with Almond Milk and it tastes pretty good. I know some people ay that the shakes are very filling but somehow they never feel all that filling to me. So I have a banana with it and aim for a snack a few hours later. Then eat my regular meals. |

Enjoying a very nice Oolong this morning, Frozen Summit Oolong, from Gong Fu Tea. (Thanks, ProfCrash, for the suggestion.) A balanced Oolong, with lots of mouth feel and a lingering sweetness in the mouth. Really quite nice. Not my usual breakfast brew, but I really wanted to try it. (New tea is like having new toys, only better.)

It is a good Oolong. One of my favorites
Working on my third pot of Seven Sons Pu Erh. I love that work has changed course again so that we can work 40 hours when there are Federal Holidays but I really don't like the 10 hour days needed to get the hours. Ah well, it means more vacation time spent with the family and fewer hours wasted on snow days. |

Two glasses of the 2012 Ridge Geyserville. Not officially a Zinfandel (only 72% Zinfandel by weight), but very much one of my favourite Zins. Deep, inky, velvet colour (9% Petite Syrah), a big bramble/blackberry nose with hints of spice, a full mouth feel with strong black fruit in the front mouth, with a bit of black pepper in the mid-mouth, and then a long slow finish. All in all, a wonderful wine, and almost worth the red-wine headache.

Twisted’s Old Vine Zinfandel. And I admire CRussel's way with words!
