I heard this morning that Jeff Bezos is terribly unhappy with the Kindle. Apparently, or so this very believable (ahem!) story goes, it works pretty well, people are pleased with it, sales for Kindles and ebooks are pretty high and it's all eating into Amazon's rather profitable pbook sales. This was not something Bezos had considered. So at noon today Jeff is going to pull the plug on all Kindles everywhere - remotely. Remember that with the wifi enabled, Amazon has nearly complete control of these devices (I hear they can even read your thoughts as you think them). So you might want to turn yours off (Kindles, not thoughts) before then. Or else trade it on ebay for a Sony before everyone else figures out what's going on.

(There! That should finally fix this poll.)
