I'm actually working on book 4 of my Earthfleet series right now. So far it's turning into the biggest of the four books in the series up to this point.

It's called "Empire Rising" (yes, I know the name is cliche, but it fits with the story) and finishes off a master plot that was pioneered in book 1.

Finished the first draft of the reference book. It's not overly long... only a bit more than 52,000 words. I also wrote it in fairly general terms, so now I need to go through it and see if I need to provide more concrete examples of a few points.

Working title is:
Why Is This Hill So Steep?
E-books: The simple idea, sensible concept and understandable product that took twenty years to pull off.

I'm soooooooooo close to the end of VICTORY COVE. I finished the two paragraph synopsis today. Woo hoo! I'm pushing for a pre-Christmas release. I was pushing for a pre-Thanksgiving release, but those days are dwindling and I do have to stop and make mashed potatoes!

I'm coming back to a 25,000 word story which I started over 10 years ago. I still like it and I want to finish it (that would be an achievement in itself for me) but I am having trouble deciding whether it is sci-fi, fantasy or horror as it contains elements of all 3!

Maybe it doesn't even matter because all the genres seem relevant to the story.

If I do manage to finish it, it will be the longest piece I've ever written bar my university dissertation which was almost 30,000 words. It amazes me that I had no problems writing long and (often) tedious essays in record time but struggle to get words down when I want to write fiction which I find much more exciting!

I just sent my agent a proposal for a steampunk book and one for a how-to book on writing. My agent really likes them both and said she'll send them straight out on Monday. Cross your fingers for me!
