[GUI Plugin] Kobo Utilities

I am a calibre portable user, and I am somewhat new to mobilereads. I keep on having an issue with retrieving reading positions automatically on connection. I have set the plugin to prompt to store changes and to store the current bookmark, which initially worked for a couple of weeks and then stopped working.

I can still store the reading position of the books individually with store/restore reading positions, but when I have tried to restore them on kobo it doesn't update the percent read or the reading status, even though when I open the book it is at the location that was stored.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you recently reset the device? That can cause device-specific settings to stop working. Someone else can tell you how to fix (memory not good right now).

The database of the kobo got corrupted somehow, so eventually I did reset it.

I should note that I have two different calibre portable libraries with the same kobo utilities settings, and the reading location is being automatically retrieved on one of them using the same kobo.

Is there a documentation page explaining the update metadata function of the plugin? I've been testing this out with my Clara BW, but I'm not sure what all the checkboxes in the update metadata window do.

I think you should be able to delete the device in the Devices tab and re-add it to get the automatic syncing working again. I have a change planned that should keep things working even if you reset the device, but I have to finish a few other things first.

There is a "Help" link in the top right of most dialogs. Please let me know if the explanations in the documentation are unclear.

I did as you suggested, but unfortunately the problem still persists with storing reading location on connect.

It turns out I did not have the device profile selected after I removed the device from the devices tab. After I did that it returned to normal.

Changes in this release:

• Removed obsolete "Order series collections" feature
• Re-enabled "Manage series information" feature
• Show Help link in plugin menu
• Mentioned automatic metadata management in documentation
• Added some menu icons

This is a small release mostly because I wanted to re-enable the "Manage series information" feature, since it's still something that people might want to use. We'll see how much work maintaining it will be.

You can add some additional information such as page count, word count, estimated reading time but the section you have in the box is generated by your Kobo and is not modifiable short of manually editing the SQLite database.

The only think you can change there is the publisher if you overwrite it. Additional info, you can include it in the sinopsis:

I don't know if there is any column that is not a custom one
