Ignatius William Perrish wakes up bleary and confused after a night of drinking and "doing terrible things" to find he has grown horns. In addition to being horribly unsightly, these inflamed protuberances give Ig an equally ugly power--if he thinks hard enough, he can make people admit things (intimate, embarrassing, I-can't-believe-you-just-said-that details). This bizarre affliction is of particular use to Ig, who is still grieving over the murder of his childhood sweetheart (a grisly act the entire town, including his family, believes he committed).

It was turned into a movie starring Daniel (stop calling me Harry Potter!) Radcliffe. It was availavle streaming on Amazon (or Netflix?) forever, but I foolishly passed up the chance to watch it.

The premise sounds vaguely like The Prisoner or Wayward Pines (a guy wakes up in a picturesque village where things aren't what they seem). I'm a sucker for these types of stories, though the Publisher's Weekly review isn't exactly kind. User reviews appear positive though.

I'd like to see the movie. I read the book a couple years ago and had mixed feelings about it, but I think it might translate well.

Nah, it'd be rubbish...

Funny, really. Just last night I put a handful of horror movies down on the list of Blu-rays I really need to pick up and The Exorcist was one of them!

Shame Legion hasn't been reduced as well. I picked up The Exorcist about eighteen months ago and having the sequel might just get me to bump it up my reading list.

I wish Stevie's books would go on sale like that in the US. I don't think I've ever seen one of his books listed that cheap.
