That's interesting - I do the same, but with hard-copy and audio, so that I can relax and read the ebook or pb (usually in bed), and then keep going with the story when I'm driving or working round the house. Of course, page numbers don't help me here

Not always, of course, as this can get fairly expensive.

The page numbers now make it very easy to switch back and forth between the two formats. Now if only Amazon could begin offering purchase discounts for those of us (maybe I'm the only one?) who occasionally do buy in both formats. Although that's probably a whole new set of negotiations with each publisher, so I'm not holding my breath....
While I would not ususally buy a paper book and an ebook, I just bought a new Nikon D90 and was looking at books on Amazon for the camera. I thought for this kind of book I would want the paper version and I think I'm right. I did notice that at least a couple of the D90 books have kindle versions and I thought, why can't they offer the option of getting both for a significant discount on the ebook? Why should I have to pay full price for the same content twice? The ebook would be handy to travel with. Amazon doesn't offer the discount and I didn't buy the ebook. Seems to me they are losing out on some $$ that way.

Correct. Unless you have an iPad or a tablet. They are awesome for magazines and anything which requires color. Too heavy and big though, comparing to my Kindle 3.

Digital Photography is one of my hobbies and I also prefer pbook.

That way you can generate pages from location X to location Y, and know when the story is about to end.
Too bad the pages are not displayed on the status bar, or at least have the option to display them.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread replying sorry

The option the add the last page number would be great if you are still interested in doing it
