Ahh screw it... just shut Apple down, blacklist everyone who ever worked there and make sure that none of them can ever do business again... that'll also reduce the number of whinging anti-Apple posts here (though we'll still be stuck with the anti-Android/Windows/whatever posts) and reduce time wasted on reading irrelevant MR posts...

(shrug) If you can't do the time... don't do the crime. And if you do, don't whine. Antitrust is serious business. Just ask IBM, AT&T, and Microsoft. |

and Google and Amazon. Once you open the pandora's box of using the government to go after your business rivals, then it's hard to guess where it's going to stop. All you need to do is send some money to the right politicians and find the right judge. Netscape et al have a lot to answer for. The funny thing is it didn't really seem to help them much. The long term losers is the consumer with less choices.

Of course there was a reason they thought they should pay a certain level for new hardcover ebooks. It was not a random level.

Worker bees had nothing to do with the anti-trust violation, and even if one did, employees could not stand up to Steve Jobs without losing their own jobs and thus causing substantial harm to their families. By contrast, the owners of the company could easily have voted against the management slate and/or sold the stock as soon as mainstream media started reporting on what was happening with books in the iStore. So, here's my modest proposal: A night in jail for every company owner AKA stockholder. Given how broadly Apple stock is held, I guess you guys will mostly have to sleep on the floor. Somewhere there must be computerized records showing which stockholders had voted against the management slate. That's a reasonable defense. But all you other owners who stood by, doing nothing, while evil was done in your name -- prepare to be spanked. |
