This Pooh movie is magical - with the narrator turning the book pages with the text and animated characters interacting. I enjoyed it immensely. I didn't like Christopher Robin's voice & attitude - not a kind/gentle as the former version, and Piglet's voice wasn't quite right. I might have to see it again!

Just playing around with the Bamboo Paper iPad app. So far I'm liking its straightforwardness. It lacks a lot of features found in many other note taking apps, but it seems to do what I need it to do and, critically, it is completely free! (Wacom expects you to use it with their Bamboo stylus, but it's not like it can actually tell the difference.)

I went to see the new Winnie the Pooh movie - and I highly recommend it - it's beautifully done - combining tales from 3 of the story collections. I have a few quibbles with some of the voice actors - but I'm hopelessly addicted to the original versions. The art work is magnificent, and the inclusion of the book pages into the story is hilarious!

My particular theater played 15 coming attraction trailers first - even the toddlers began booing!

I like that they went back to the hand-drawn look I remember from my childhood. That alone may encourage me to watch it eventually.

There's an interesting mix of "looks" -- the hand-drawn look of the original illustrations predominates, but there is also some animated chalk-board sequences reminiscent of the original "Heffalumps & Woozles" nightmare sequence, and some almost 3-D stylistic touches when Pooh swims in the huny, errr .... honey. Very visually interesting.

And the letters on the page are now solid - and play a role in the story.

I was 30 when I first watched the Pooh movies and the Heffalumps sequence mesmerized me. It's very creative but perhaps it's also the sign of someone with a sick, sick mind. I could imagine it's disturbing for some kids, too.

Getting everything ready for my sister to finally give her my old Sony PRS600. I even downloaded a whole load of classics for her, it's her birthday today so I thought it would be nice if she can start reading right away.

I'm going to watch the new HP movie this wednesday

So I was walking through my apartment (actually, I was chasing Oni because I had to give her her medication) and was a little embarrassed by all the clutter. So I decided I'm going to tackle my apartment room by room, throwing away things I never use and scrubbing everything until it shines!

Operation 'Clean Apartment' starts now!

Well, maybe not RIGHT now, first I have to go shopping

Just set everything up for my sister to start ereading. I've also made a list for her with links to various websites so it wouldn't surprise me if she's going to show up on MR some time soon.

I also went to the DIY store with my dad and finally found the moulded slat (?) I want to put on my art supply box. Going to make it to the right length tomorrow and glue it on and then I can finally finish painting it and install the pretty lock and hinges.

right now i'm doing nothing. darn internet! went tubing out on my dad's boat. after that, i spent the entire weekend basically keeping pace with my little sister. fun! i watched the first season of lost. however, i've looked at how convoluted the plot gets in subsequent seasons, and i doubt i'll put myself through that anytime soon. i think they had something there with the flashback idea. a gripe i have with fiction is true with tv, the flashbacks just aren't indivualized or peculiar enough ultimately. i hope to make a complex literature someday if i can't find it out there. even joyce's "ulysses" was a little put on with blooms s-o-c.

That crazy Norton decided after less than 4 hours that I'd had enough sleep and it was time for me to wake up.

Just tried to put his swimming vest on him so we could take a dip in the pool, but he wouldn't let me. He wants to go swimming, but thinks it's funny to fight with me over the vest, which he needs to keep his ears out of the water. He's very prone to ear infections.
