Actually, no. Not at all.
In fact my English teacher has despaired to teach me the difference between wantS and bottleS. I remember she would give me a text, show every other word with s at the end and ask me whether it is a noun or a verb...

Last winter was extremely cold here in Oslo so I actually tried a breathing filter that warms up the air before going down your lungs.



The only problem with this thing that you put in your mouth is that it makes you drool worse than a dog not a pretty sight.

People driving by in cars probably thought:
- What is this maniac doing running outdoors in minus 15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) with a big piece of plastic in his mouth

The professional athletes here in Norway were advised not to do too much training outdoors during the worst period, I think the line is drawn somewhere near -15.

KK, did you find it easy to breathe through silk? We have the mountain riflemen's or highlanders who go through pretty heavy military training. The training is considered to be extremely hard and only the best are recruited.

you can't wrap it real tight. of course this was a "few" years ago. there are now spandex blend masks that are better at providing the protection. the wool alone of course gets soaked and then freezes. the biggest problems with exercising in the extreme cold are that you dehydrate so much more quickly, it is EXTREMELY easy to get frostbite in your esophagus, and I actually knew one guy that managed to damage a lung due to the cold. but getting something over your mouth in the severe cold is really really important.

I grew up skiing at Arapahoe Basin in Colorado (some folks might know where this is) the top most lift goes WAY above timberline and the winds could be exceptionally brutal. it was very easy to get frostbite among other things just riding the lift. we actually used to put plastic garbage bags over our heads to ride the lift. then of course you have to be very alert for the visual ques as to when to get off! one of the earlier innovations was a foam face mask, but it had the same issues as wool... it would get soaked and then start freezing. yeah, fun times
