I've always said that animal crossing is a RPG-Retirement game (Altersheim für rollenspieler), the (like AC, Nintendo-based) model for Stardew Valley are the 'Bokujō Monogatari' games (back then Harvest Moon, now Story of Seasons) a more fantasy-based approach is offered by the Rune Factory series.

Just edited a book that had 7 chapters from the next book in the series tacked on to the main content. Just from curiosity I checked the TOC of the other books - yep, ALL of them had 6-7 chapters from the next book added after the epilogue. WTF? Content padding much? If I were already reading the series, why the hell would I need all those chapters twice?

Of course they're probably KU books, so those chapters increase the overall number of pages in each book pretty nicely. Totally shameless.

I cannot stand what is called "bonus" content. There's nothing bonus about it. It's just a preview of another book.

When Amazon changes an eBook on your Kindle without your knowledge. Yes, this is a thing and Amazon has done it.

Bonus Content frequently refers to OTHER things than teaser chapters.
Deleted scenes (not in the Print version), Short stories that might have been in a themed collection.

But 7 chapters
One of the things I now do is remove all the content of those teaser chapters (I leave the notice: Soon to be ... ). I do this because I missed buying (dead tree) books, because I would flip it open and read a couple of pages an go 'Oh, I have this one', because I remembered the scene.

Paper books used to fill out a Signature with ads rather than leave those pages blank. It only cost the extra ink

Comfort Eating by Grace Dent, which I'd kinda, sorta like to read, is an eye-popping $17.99 at Kindle! It's a short, humorous foodie read. Who's buying it at that price? Exactly no one, I'd imagine.

I read a lot and I'm glad to say I buy much less than I used to, but ebook pricing really has me scratching my head. At $17.99, a book would have to be something I was desperate to read and one of my top five choices on the year, say. (Although I wouldn't pay that price for anything even then. Books are pretty fungible, IMO. There's always something else to read in the meantime and I'll never get to everything I'd like to read anyway.)

It's only £1.89 at Kindle UK right now -- and that I'd pay, or the US equivalent.

Oh, well. Rant over; moving on.

It is available via Overdrive. I cannot say if any of your libraries have it.

Huh. I did what I thought was a global search at OverDrive. Oh, well; works out to the same thing in the end as neither library is accessible for me.

Have you tried asking your accessible libraries to purchase the book? My local library is pretty good about doing so depending on their budget space.

I've been waiting for my libraries to buy the third volume of a trilogy.
One library only has the first volume, one has the first two volumes.

I'd never have the patience for this, I'd just buy them myself. That is one reason why I've never liked to use libraries (there are several other reasons, but that's beside the point).
