Oooh, thank you!

I've eReaderIQ'd Marooned, and also The Peace War, since Kindle says Marooned in Realtime is the second in the Peace War series. Do I need to read The Peace War first? (Sadly, neither of my local libraries have these...)

My memory is that Marooned in Realtime can be read stand-alone. But you might want to see if the collected edition is available, Across Realtime

And thank you as well, I've eReaderIQ'd The Disappeared too, although at only $3.99, I may just buy it sometime soon. There is also an omnibus of 8 titles in the series that is now on my eReaderIQ list, just in case .

And in the process, I discovered that Wildside Press has one of their Megapacks titled The Science Fiction Crime Megapack®: 26 Criminally Futuristic Stories! Who knew!

And with a blurb that starts off
Quote:
Science fiction and crime go hand-in-tentacle, if you'll pardon the expression.
and at only $0.99, how could I resist?

Thank you all (I think) for adding to my watch list and eventually my TBR list...

For Science Fiction and mystery, you could do a lot worse than Isaac Asimov's Asimov's Mysteries, although I don't know if it's available as an ebook. And, of course, his Caves of Steel and The Naked Sun.

Sadly, Across Realtime only seems to be available as a paperback. Sigh! But I have the two individual titles eReaderIQ'd, and at least one of them has dropped a bit in price in the past, so hopefully again, and with a huge TBR pile, I can be patient .

You don't. Marooned stands on its own. You may have better luck finding Across Realtime which collects The Peace War and Marooned in Realtime along with a short bridge piece "The Ungoverned".

Note: The Peace War and "The Ungoverned" aren't mystery stories so they might not be your cuppa.

Thank you - even I know about (and have read and liked) Caves of Steel and The Naked Sun , but wasn't aware of the Asimov's Mysteries collection of science-fiction based mysteries. Again, not in e-book, at least that I find, but maybe I'll have to bend my not-very-often-bent rule and buy a used paperback or two.

I also very much liked Asimov's Black Widowers and Union Club short story collections of non-science fiction mysteries, and wish they were available in ebook, since my tattered paperbacks are, well, quite tattered.

Oh well...

Titan by Stephen Baxter is $1.99 at Amazon US.

Quote:
Signs of life have been found on Titan, Saturn’s largest moon.

A group of visionaries led by NASA’s Paula Benacerraf plan a daring one-way mission that will cost them everything. Taking nearly a decade, the billion-mile voyage includes a ‘slingshot’ transit of Venus, a catastrophic solar storm, and a constant struggle to keep the ship and crew functioning.

But it is on the icy surface of Titan itself that the true adventure begins. In the orange methane slush the astronauts will discover the secrets of life’s origins and reach for a human destiny beyond their wildest dreams.
I remember very much enjoying Titan, but be warned, it is pretty dark.

The first book in an enjoyable self-published UF series is on sale for $0.99 this weekend. The whole series is also in KU if you prefer to borrow. I've read all of the books and it's a fun romp. Straight UF, no romance.
