Snowing in Louisiana, heading for Mississippi. Prediction is up to 2 niches of snow near the beaches. Up to 5 inches of snow north of Interstate 10. Which is less than 10 miles form the beaches.

Interesting weather for being so close to the Gulf of Mexico.

The DFW area has gotten 12.5 inches of celestial confetti in one 24 hour period, breaking all records since records have been kept.

It's beautiful but looks kind of strange in some ways. There was virtually no wind during the entire snowfall period, so you might see 10 inches of snow piled evenly on a patio table and not a single bit of snow underneath it.

It will probably all be gone by midday tomorrow.

Y'all seem to have used up all of the snow already. Alabama shut down last night in anticipation, and although the weather guy on TV assures us it is snowing but not making it to the ground, that just seems like a dodge to make them seem smart.

They keep trying to convince us that it will snow. So far, we have a foot of invisible snow.

@Lady Blue, I was south of DFW in Killeen back in 1982 when we got 4 inches of snow while we were in a movie theater. The storm came and went quickly. That was weird to come outside and find!

This has been the Washington, DC area... all week long. At times, almost double what you see in this shot. Temps in the low 30s, but the amount of snow has crippled the area (more than we've had in the 126 years of recorded snow totals).



My commuter train is still not running, even though the government offices are opening, so I'm working from home again as I have (more or less) all week.

The snow (invisible or not) is supposed to move north today up through SC into NC tonight. We're predicted to get 1 - 3" - hope we get DixieGal's invisible stuff - easier to shovel.

In most years, tomorrow would be the day I would mow, trim, and fertilize my lawn for the first time in the spring, anticipating the rapid coming of green over the next few weeks. I look outside today and all I see is a swamp of brown, dormant (or dead) grass. I'm thinking I'll get to sleep in tomorrow. Oh, well. At least there's no white stuff out there.

It finally started snowing here about 2 hours ago. Snow! I know, I know, this really isn't news to those of you dealing with massive amounts of it, but it's AWESOME here in Georgia. It makes me giddy!
