Switched power outlets. It took me almost 5 minutes to figure out why the tv in my hotelroom didn't want to switch on. Then another couple of minutes to locate the outlet of the tv to switch it on.

By the time I'm used to it it's time to go home.

You have a Mobius shirt that is all inside?

I'm alarmed to admit that I may have many such shirts (and socks).

I have often gone from inside-out to inside-out in one fluid motion. Makes me wish I had a motion-detecting game-trail camera in my laundry room to capture the minor miracle for posterity.

Bah. Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with people around me, especially some family members. We all get up at around the same time (6:30-7:00), all go to bed around the same time (23:00-0:00), all have a day job, and a household to run. Most are in the 30-50 y/o age category. The exception are my parents (>60 and >70, retired) and three children (6-12 y/o.)

When I'm around other family members, it's astounding to see they're all tired, always. It was really apparent last weekend, when on an outing with a bunch of them. It's unbelievable to notice that I'm the only one able to stay awake properly past 15:00 or so, except for one aunt who can do that as well. People start yawning and complaining about 'feeling tired' at around that time, and at around 19:00, most are going like "Whaaaaaah", "Oeewweeeeaaaaa", "Weeeeeeee", yawning/screaming at a 100 dB and stretching their arms skyward as if deathly tired. At around 22:00, some actually start to fall asleep. I know that, if given a chance, some of them are actually in bed at 22:00, even when having to get up at around 7:00 or later.

Do most of them REALLY need 9 hours of sleep? Is there ANY reason to start 'feeling tired' after being awake for only 8-ish hours or so, and start yawning, sounding like f^$%^$%^vacuum cleaners? Sorry to say, it's *seriously* angryfying (if that's really a word) to be surrounded by perpetually tired people half of the time.

Am I the exception, getting up at around 7:00, and going to bed at around 0:00, feeling only slightly tired at that time, not having yawned my way through the day since 15:00?

Jeesh. Get a new bed or something...

Strange. Maybe it's a country thing. The smoke detectors in my house go like:

"BEEEEEEP!" "BEEEEEEP!" "BEEEEEEP!"

30 seconds silence

"BEEEEEEP!" "BEEEEEEP!" "BEEEEEEP!"

They're as loud as a friggin' alarm clock.

I haven't seen midnight in months. I get up between 6 and 7 am every day. Of course I don't stretch and yawn for hours before going to bed—I just go to bed when I'm tired. It rarely occurs to me to check what time I've gone to bed.

I must be doing something right, though. I haven't owned (or needed) an alarm clock to wake up and get to work on time for decades.

Surely you realize that different people have different needs for sleep? Some people get along fine on 6 hours. Some need 9. Everybody is different, and it's not about their mattresses, most likely.

When I'm working out religiously, my body wants 9 hours, period. Oh, I don't get 9--but left to my own devices, I'll sleep 9 hours. When I'm not working out, 7-8 is perfect (what my body wants). My entire adult life, I've mostly gotten by with 6-ish hours...but that's not what my body WANTS.

When I was building hotels, it wasn't that uncommon for me to nearly sleep Sunday away, catching up. Even today, b/c I work 60+ hours every week, including Saturdays, on Sundays, I'm always tired. ALWAYS. Certainly not because I'm lazy, or this or that--it's just that there are only so many hours in a day, and I work a lot of them. The icing on the cake for this is also that I'm not a great sleeper--so I get to toss/turn for an hour or more, each night, when I hit the sack, before I drop off.

I'm happy for you that you're so good to go with fewer hours, but your rant is a bit like blaming them for having blue eyes rather than brown. (I'm assuming that if they were all unfit, or taking drugs, or drunk, etc., you'd have mentioned that, so...it's probably just how they're built.)

And why on earth does it make you angry? Why do you care if they sleep an hour more than you do?

Hell, I'd be THRILLED if mine were as quiet as an alarm clock. Mine sound like a nuclear device is about to be let go over the house, and I need to run for the hills.

Are these people at their homes or is it a gathering somewhere? I know if I had to sit around all day with my relatives doing basically nothing I would be yawning by 3 pm myself.

Well, I had the cataract out of my left eye. It was a breeze and no more "fog." I did opt to keep my near vision, for reading, you know, so I will still need glasses for far.

So, I had the cataract out on Tuesday. On Friday, I am running to catch the bus to work, catch my toe on a crack in the sidewalk, and injure my knee and elbow. My knee is pretty badly skinned. It still hurts.

I remember when I was in High School. That was the style for a while to wear your shirt or sweatshirt inside out. Never understood that one.

No, no, Cins, you're confused. You're supposed to be talking about costumes, not the stuff you wore day-to-day. I always wondered--did you wear anything beneath those togas? Or was that only for the Vestals?

Personally I wore short shorts although not my super short irritate the trailer park manager shorts and a tube top due to a bra would show.
