45 to 90 DAYS? Is that the norm in the States? Here you make an offer , then find out the same or next day usually.

I suspect it is the norm, because the thousands of pages we signed were just standard forms with the blank spaces filled in. Okay, maybe it was hundreds of pages. More likely dozens of pages.

So we initialed about eight pages and signed in two places. Sheesh, i exaggerate for dramatic effect.

Just ordered a Garmin Oregon GPS thingie, and now I check my order status every 5 minutes on Amazon

So I will have 3 GPS devices with me in Scotland (phone, old GPS for road, new GPS for walking). If I still get lost with all that... well, it will be just what I'd expect.

there is no "normal" (well actually it is a little closer to two weeks). it is dependent on your own financing, the status of the purchase (short sale, REO, foreclosure, owner financing, conventional, VA, FHA, USDA...)
