I first read them in publication order since that was the only option. As soon as one was published, I bought it and read it. I have read all of them more times than I can count over the years. Louis L'Amour ruined the Western Genre for me. To me very few western books, by other authors, were worth reading.

Just finished up Three by Jay Posey. Still a 4star read but sometimes a re-read shows you things you didn't catch on the first rush of excitement back in the day. and it's not always as good as you remember

Oh I didn't realise Lamour was a modern author, I thought he was a contemporary of Zane Grey, Jack London etc

Just finished a couple of books.

Clickers vs. Zombies by JF Gonzalez and Brian Keene. Giant monsters called Clickers - a mix between a lobster and a scorpion rise from the seas to terrorize people and zombies also come into play at the same time and a gore-filled fun fest ensues. I'm a fan of both authors, so I enjoyed it. Rated 4/5

The Investigator by John Sandford. Letty Davenport, the daughter of Lucas Davenport, who's been the main character in all those Prey novels finally gets her debut novel. She gets her start as an investigator for the Dept of Homeland Security (sorta) and ends up tracking some right-wing militia types across the country. This was an okay read, not quite as good as Sandford's Davenport and Virgil Flowers books for me. Rated 3/5

Next up is City on Fire by Don Winslow. I'm also in the middle of Drawing of the Three by Stephen King.

Just finished The Sixth Extinction by James Rollins. This was a good action/adventure, as are all of his books IMHO. One of the few authors that can keep a series interesting past the first few books.

I agree it is not up to the usual standards. Sandford put in so much backstory for new readers that it dragged the pace down. But, I enjoyed it and looking forward to this new series.

This wasn't bad. I was worried it would be dated but the plot was more mystery whodunit than sci-fi. A few elements I figured out but there were enough surprises to kept me interested. Writing was competent. Some moralizing-probably added during the update. Not bad for a 99c special. Rated C [3 stars].

Next, a recent purchase, Way of the Wolf by E.E. Knight.

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Doerr. I may have to post this in the thread of books that I've pulled the plug on... I'm just not getting this story yet and I don't know how long I want to wait...

Asterix and the Normans. I seem to remember my dad had this as Asterix and the Vikings. I'd have to go ask him to get his copies out of storage.

Finished Grohl's The Storyteller. Laughed a lot. He didn't spend a lot of time on the difficult times, but more on his mother's support and his pride in his daughters.

Still reading Prince of Thorns and have started Stephen King's If It Bleeds.

Is Prince of Thorns your first Lawrence?

Just read the latest MHI book by Correia, Monster Hunter Bloodlines. So much fun!

Just finished The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King. This is a reread, but I read it so long ago (when it first came out) that I barely remembered any of it. Excellent read. It will be interesting to see how it goes the closer I get to the end of The Dark Tower, I stopped after book #4 (Wizard and Glass) for some reason. Not sure why, just never got around to reading the rest. Anyways, this one I’m rating 4/5.

Thumbs up

Assasin's Apprentice is a totally magical read!!! I'm halfway through the Makeup Bars series by J.Zaraiyah, and actually considering calling out from work so I can keep reading. Profoundly marvelous.
