I'm glad I checked the UPS site because according to Amazon my Kindle will be delivered on Tuesday but the according to the UPS site it'll be delivered tomorrow at 10.30.

Because the store's closed on Mondays and many mailmen don't seem to understand that people can live over shops, even though there is a name plate underneath the buzzer, I've already printed out a sign telling them to ring the doorbell. Drawback is that so long as the sign is up people who need something from the store will also ring the doorbell.

I'm glad I picked out a short book to read today, I should be able to finish it when the Kindle is charging.

hmmm. I started to worry. These days the battery of my kindle is running out fast. I have to plug it in every week. What's possibly wrong? I don't think I'm reading "heavily" at the moment... just some hours a day, a tiny bit of wifi using...

There's a thread about this on the Kindle Boards. It might be that a book is stuck indexing but a lot of people report that they have to charge every week. I wouldn't mind charging every week, as long as the battery doesn't go from full to empty overnight, which happens every 6-8 weeks with my Sony (one of the reason why I wanted a new, non-Sony, reader).

When the firmware was finally released to the public these gestures were nowhere to be found. However as it turns out the feature is still there: it's just been disabled and hidden. You can get it back by tweaking a few system configuration files.
