Cause I was a 16 year old boy, too. And had lots of friends who also happened to be 16 year old boys...I know better. But, yeah. If we DID have a girl, I'd probably have to get more tattoos, get used to growing extremely gruff facial hair, and start displaying more medieval weaponry on the walls.

I'm sure that she'll want a sensible name. I've been petitioning for something manly like Biff Webster, Chuck Steak, Flint Ironstag, or maybe Buff Drinklots. Suffice it to say...I haven't made much progress towards the last one. Maybe a few more foot-rubs are in order.

There certainly have been some hummers.... Thor Schwartz, Aphrodite Finkelstein, etc... Stick with some known winners such as Ichabod or Hieronymus, but be aware that it's hard to find lunch bags or bicycle license plates with some names. And for God's sake, do check the spelling to be sure you get it right. My son has only recently forgiven us for the misspelling of his name, and he's getting married in three months!

anyway, congrats!

Yesterday the status told me it was going to ship on Monday and that it would arrive Wednesday-Friday. Just after midnight I got an email telling me it has already shipped and should on Tuesday!

Just packed my bag for my weekend of house/dog/cat sitting. Put the bag next to the freezer so I hopefully won't forget my dinner when I go.

It's the evening of May 27th, and I'm waiting...

All my Mayan, Aztec, and Olmec friends said today was the day, but the only apocalypse I've noticed was a traffic jam on the old Tokaido Road. Not particularly apocalyptic... these happen every day at rush hour.

Oh well, I guess I'd better do my laundry. I didn't want to do it if I wasn't going to be around tomorrow to put on clean socks and underwear, right?

Laundry, what's that? I'm sure I've heard that word before... maybe it has something to do with that pile on the floor I keep walking around?

Great start to the last week-end before the end of the world. I woke up early. Now it's early afternoon and I have done the grocery shopping, had my hair cut, and most important, I finalized the selection of paintings for my exhibition. No laundry though.

And the weather is great, sunny and not too hot.

That snake can not possibly be real, right? Right? Please?

We have everything we own in the Terrain, and a hotel room waiting for us in Ft Lauderdale. We are now 300 miles from home and driving toward a new life. Scary/exciting!

So this is what happens after the End of the World? You end up on a road trip to Ft. Lauderdale?

We ain't scared of no pre-Columbian Cthulus. If a direct hit from a 205 mph EF5 tornado can't snuff us, then whose afraid of some cranky little monster from a demon dimension?

We can not do anything else. Our pasts are firmly closed. We really can not ever go home. We are looking forward to hearing the surf when we go to bed at night.
