I have two questions.

1. How do I deal with the program's inability to get the cover I want from fanfiction.net?

2. do you plan on working with works from DeviantArt?

## fanfiction.net's 'cover' images are really just tiny thumbnails.
## Change this to false to use them anyway.

I got that but it's not working for some reason. do I go to generate cover or is that it?

Generate Cover is for making a cover image from a template, not using one from the site.

It's working for me. You also need to have the options for saving images turned on and be saving to epub.

If it's still not working, post a story url in case it's a story specific problem.

Hi how do I add the category I've got open in the screenshot to the tags column or a custom one?

I tried to download a story with a password from fimfiction.net and I got an error of "Story does not exist". And I have confirmed that the password does work.

The story is here, and the password is "Keter" with a capital K.

That is a sub-categorization of fics that I only see in Filter and only for some fandoms--the very, very large ones with many stories.

If you can show me where that is visible on the story or author page, I might be able to include it. But I haven't found it.

The easiest say is on the right side of the 'Basic' FFDL config tab under Misc Options, 'Include images in EPUB'.

FFDL both scrapes pages and uses FIMF's API to gather data for stories.

FIMF apparently has changed their system so the API returns 'Invalid story' for password protected stories now. Passing the password with either a GET or POST request doesn't work.

I've tried posting a comment on a FIMf admin's page, not sure if it took, or if it will work.

In the meantime, FIMF does have epub download built into the site now.

Looking at it further, if it's an update, not a new book, you also need to have 'Update EPUB Cover when Updating EPUB' option checked when you do the download.

You can do that in the (initially hidden) options on the Update dialog, or set it to default to update the cover on the Basic FFDL config tab. 2nd option down on the left.

Attached is a test version that can tell the difference between user images and actual story images on ffnet stories. It defaults to using story images as cover images when they are there, whereas previous versions have defaulted to not using ffnet images for covers at all.

You do have to download to epubs, have images enabled, and update cover inside epub to get the full effect.

Let me know what you think--are the tiny ffnet story images worth using as covers for the default setting?

I tried this code and it didn't work.

extra_valid_entries only works if the adapter is collecting that data, or if you're filling it from another entry.

Attached is a test version that collects reviews for wraithbait.com. Your custom_columns_settings should work with it. You don't need your own extra_valid_entries.

However, if you want Reviews to appear on the title page, you will need to add it to titlepage_entries. One way is like this:

add_to_titlepage_entries:,reviews
# Note the comma needs to be there.

I don't see "Read Count" reported anywhere on wraithbait.com, I don't think FFDL can collect it.
