I saw a "Tortilleria" sign in a little strip mall about 15 minutes from my house the other day, and I stopped in today to see if I could buy fresh masa for tortillas from them. Success! They went in the back and ground me up "una libra" but in reality it was closer to 4 lbs, not 1. I've been on a tortilla making kick lately, but have been using "maseca," which is a dried corn flour/lime preparation. Tortillas are supposed to taste better if you can find fresh masa, which is softened corn kernels treated with lime then ground into dough. I came home and made a batch. The dough looks quite different from dough made with maseca -- you can see the bits of corn in it. I'm still experimenting with timing and temperature of the skillet, but these came out pretty good. For some reason I find the process of tortilla-making very soothing.

Seems like fun!

I would actually love to try that -- I've watched a bunch of videos, and it's amazing the way that they grind, pick up, and cook in just a few motions. I do make it a point to turn my tortillas with my fingers because it's cheating to use a spatula.

50 I would wet myself. Although pee smells like blood to sharks so that would bring them on the bite! 50 scary sharks.

I had a fright in the Sololmons once when I swam through a school of fish to meet a shark. Lucky he was a reefie and not one of those hammerheads (no tank that day so shallow was good).
I always found that acting aggressivly towards reefies made them stay away, but when they were a lot bigger than me and stayed put, I was a little nervous and moved away myself. The hammerheads were way too scary so I looked at them from a safe distance and played in another area.

I don't even know what a font hack is. So you are only the second dumbest person on earth!

Dad always told me that tortillas rolled out with a broken pool cue were the best

We routinely dive with that many and more in the Western Carolines. Palau diving pretty much assures you of diving inside large schools of them, usually Blacktip or Greys. The reefs themselves are covered with sleeping Whitetips.
The first time with a big school was the hardest. The most I had ever been around before diving there was one or two at a time, and they were usually leaving as we were arriving. In the Carolines, they don't leave... and there are dozens at every reef drop-off or corner where the currents converge.

Have you seen the huge schools of hammerheads in the Galapagos? Hundreds and hundreds of them at a time. Luckily peeing was ALL I did!
