What a delightful Valentine's Day Weekend!

Good morning everyone! And a warm welcome to Cat Nicolaou.
Today we celebrate the supposed birthday of Nichiren, the monk so famous for establishing the Nichiren Buddhism sect. According to him, all we gotta do is chant "Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō" and we obtain enlightenment. No more having to go off a live in a cave in the mountains for 40 years. No more living on one glass of water and half a fish for years. 'Buddha-hood for Dummies,' but back in 1222 AD. Just chant! Then along came the 'Sokka Gakai Buddhist' group who said, ya don't even have to chant... just give us money! Modernization! How things to change!

Anyway, I've got a nice mug of East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea in my mug, a big plate of stuff from the Food Lady downstairs, and it's looks as if this is going to be another delightful day! Enjoy!

Little Lesley Gore has left us... We sort of grew up together, she singing on the radio, me listening and dancing with my girlfriend. All of us the same age. And now she's gone... There were so many 'Little' singers back then... Little Richard, Little Peggy March, Little Stevie Wonder, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Little Eva...

Good morning, everyone! It's another bright morning in the Rose of the North... air quality is going down as the farmers all over S.E. Asia begin burning their fields in preparation for the next planting. We'll have two months of really bad air, until the end of April and the Rainy Season begins, clearing things up again. This time next month we'll all be wearing N95 masks when we go outside.

Vieng Joom On's "English Breakfast" tea this morning. I'm happy I discovered this little tea shop just across the river from me. I wish they carried a better variety of straight black teas though. Other than their 'English Breakfast' tea, all the others are 'flavored.' Yuck! Oh well. At least the 'English Breakfast' tea is top notch!
