Good morning everyone! Today we can wish a happy birthday to Charlie Darwin and Abe Lincoln! I hope you enjoy your day, boys! This 'used to be' a National Holiday back when I was a kid, but for Abe, not Charlie. No matter... they took away his toys.

Big mug of East India Company's 'Royal Breakfast' tea in my cup this morn, another fine way to start another fine day. Just about time for me to go down and visit the Food Lady and get some vittles down my neck before starting my day. My very good friend, Dr.Jolie Bookspan and her husband Paul are in town for a week, and we have adventures to find! One of the world's leading physiologists, as usual she'll get my body parts tuned up and moving pain-free once again during her visit, and I'll cook up a big vegetarian feast for her to repay. This is a yearly event, going back almost 15 years when she first contacted me for photography lessons, and we became good friends.

For those of you with back/knee/shoulder difficulties, Jolie has loads of free tips for freeing yourself of the pain easily, effortlessly, and painlessly on her website, which lead to her being given the nickname, the St.Jude of Joints! OK... off to play!

In one day? And how big are the cans? I'm aiming for 72 ounces of liquid a day, per my heart doctor's instructions. However, even at 8 oz each, if you did 18 in one day, you've surpassed that by a long shot! (144 ounces). Maybe you really needed to rehydrate.

Twenty years ago today... He was right there beside us as we made our vows to each other. Valentine's Day, 1995... Twenty years ago... Another new 'Personal Best!'

Good morning, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! We're celebrating it with a bigger than usual mug of unbranded Keemun tea before we go off to our clubs for the afternoon, she playing table tennis and me fencing. Then we'll hook up again this evening for a big dinner out at our favorite restaurant, celebrating together with Dr. Jolie and her husband who leave Thailand tomorrow morning for another year. It's going to be a delightful day!

Back home after a quick trip to Seattle/Tacoma. Went down to celebrate the retirement of a good friend who has just retired from the railroad, celebrated his 65th birthday and moved from the east coast to Burein, near SeaTac. Took him to one of my favourite restaurants, Le Pichet, on 1st Avenue in Seattle. I'm really looking forward to having them closer than the other side of the continent.

Celebrated last night with a quite nice Champagne at a modest price.

But tonight, a large Talisker Storm.

Fresh squeezed orange juice, and a mug of Peet's Irish Breakfast tea. I picked this up while we were down in Washington, and it's much like their English Breakfast, only more so.

Hearty, malty, and with a noticeable "bite" to it, but still a delightful tea. Definitely one that can handle milk, and if you over-brew it, you'll need milk.

same size can as a soda. I prefer these in the cans to the 2 litre plastic bottles as those tend to run flat more often than not
