They are rushing my sister to the hospital. Possible stroke in progress. Mom is at the doctor's and sis tagged along. Mom's doctor took one look at sis and said she was calling an ambulance. Mom will have to ride home by herself in a medical transport. I'm not sure how she is going to get from the transport into the house. They do not have a home health aide yet. Just nurses and a physical therapist for mom set up. She will be alone again.

No. Mom's alone. I can't go there because of her dogs and other unknown allergens in that house. Hubby says if I try to do anything he is leaving. I can't blame him for the ultimatum. Last time he had to step in then once everything was settled mom lied about everything. The conditions of the nursing home to getting home health services started.

It's going to be hard but this time I can't stand in or nothing will change. It has to change. For everyone's health. I'm also dealing with my own health and can't go anywhere as anything tight against my upper back is unbearable.

Learning that making actual money doing it isn't as simple as they wished to believe tends to come as a rude shock, however...

This reminded me of an Indy author who dropped in on the Kindle chat forum on Amazon, about 3 years ago. He had written a novel (150 page story) that he was sure would be a big seller. Her had even run the numbers proving he could easily make $1,000 a week, as long as he sold 1,000 copies every 2 weeks.

There was no convincing him that his goal was unrealistic. If I remember correctly, the thread was on the lengthy side, with him defending his work, and actual users trying to convince him he was living in a dream world.

I had his name on a note somewhere, and last time I looked him up, he still has no reviews on his "novel."

Oh there are a couple that post here but they are rare.

Over three weeks ago the museum next door closed permanently. However, they haven't put a sign up explaining this to who don't know this. Every day since the closure we've had multiple people or groups come in to ask about the museum. Most also think that because they only want to ask something that it's alright to jump the customer queue and interrupt you when you're helping a customer.

This morning, in the first hour that we were open five different groups came in to ask about it. And it wasn't that one person per group came in, but the whole group came into our not so big store. I printed out a sign which explains in both Dutch and English that the museum has closed permanently and stuck it on the museum's door. I'm not sure if I am allowed to do this, but we didn't get any confused tourists the rest of the day.

I would have done the same thing Rumple! How rude to interrupt transactions and such to ask you about a business next door.

If illnesses and emergencies don't happen on a Friday, they happen on a holiday. We spent most of last weekend and half of the 4th of July in and out of the ER with my brother. He had an unrelenting headache, so bad he coudn't keep anything down. They finally decided Tuesday night to transfer him from the ER to a hospital with a neurology team since our hospital doesn't have one. By that time it was 9pm with a massive thunderstorm bearing down on the region.

Not a very fun way to spend a holiday weekend.

They've run every test they can think of and the end result is they're calling it a migraine. Now, he used to have migraines when he was much younger but has not had one in like 30 years. I've never heard of a migraine that lasts more than a week and nothing helps, even with numerous trips to the ER and a hospital stay.

He says his pain is down to about a 3 and they sent him home Friday. He's at least able to eat and keep things down and they've ruled out any major causes via CAT scans, MRIs and spinal taps.
