Good tips! I kinda-sorta knew most of that already, but reminders are good, especially when I get too confident for my own good and end up doing something foolish (like trying to run in the dark in January).

We got lucky today - only 33 C (91.4 F) as opposed to 39 C (102.2 F) in Sydney. But I bet the humidity will climb through the roof again.

Kinda like the weather we had the last 5 days and as the weather we will expect for the 5 at least. Checking radar twice daily but can't conjure up any rain or storm

People tend to forget Sydney has a great differential in temperature. The part away from the coast went up to 43 C (109 F).
Looks like it's going to get hot today too. It's already 33 C here, and it's only 9 AM (ignoring Daylight Savings).

We had sun today!!!!!!!!!!! Feels so good to be reminded that light comes from a natural source! Last time the clouds cleared, I reported it here... that's 13 days ago!

43.7 C (111 F) reached today. I wonder how many more days like this we'll get in a row, or if it'll get any hotter as the afternoon goes along?

What a difference a few hours has made! 6 PM now, and its dropped to 24.4 C (75.9 F). One can only hope this means the heatwave is broken. Oh, and the temp topped at 44.2 C (112 F)..

It didn't snow!

For the first time in almost a week, it actually did not snow in Flagstaff (Arizona). Granted the three storms that hit us this week left almost 4 feet of snow here in town and even more than that at the ski resort. The sun actually made a very brief appearance but it was mostly cloudy. The important thing is that it didn't snow today.

On a side note, our premier used bookstore here in town had its roof collapse from all the snow this week basically destroying the entire inventory. Granted we all read mostly ebooks now, but the thought of all those precious paper books destroyed is just heartbreaking. I'm sure Bookmans will be back, but in the meantime, I am in mourning.

5C in Athens, Greece. Now, five degrees here are not at all like five degrees in the UK, it actually feels a lot colder! It was a good opportunity to use that fireplace at last though

That's so sad - I hope they're back up and running soon.
