Right now I am mostly downloading Anna Karenina and Riders of the Purple Sage from Amazon for free (), ready for the May 2011 Mobile Read Book Club Vote reading.

I started to download a few that I hadn't read, from the list, and was sidetracked to the Wiki to look up an author which lead to another entry and another and another. Long and short was that I ended up downloading The Wonderful Visit by HG Wells. Then, I have no idea how I got there, but I also found a nice epub version of The Complete Memoirs of Jacques Casanova de Seingalt by Giacomo Casanova from The University of Adelaide Library. So, I was pretty happy.

Waiting. I'm house/dog/cat sitting again, today's the last day but I can't leave yet. Because today the annual marathon is held. The route goes around the inner city and the roads and bridges into the city centre won't open until four pm.

that's what they told me. they asked me if i knew anyone from the diplomatic office. apparently, my passport was pulled out and claimed by someone else. *sigh*

they can't get out of that particular harness. there is a velcroed strap around the neck as well as one around the belly. they can't perform their normal shenanigans that would normally allow an escape

You're right about that - all she can do is roll on the carpet and try to scratch it off - that's when I intervene with praise & treats & divert her with toys. We're making progress - the key for her is getting the belly band cinched up tight enough right away so that an edge of it doesn't hit a leg - that's what scares/bothers her. If I get that right, then she just trots around with it on.

;o) just keep at it, and stay calm and relaxed. a lot of Savannahs apparently wear their harnesses almost full time even in their homes. it DOES make a convenient "grab the cat" handle

They were chubby grey bunnies, very lovely. It was dark and they ran by quickly, so I didn't get a chance to take a picture. I did take a picture of some deer the other day, I will try to post them later

How can that happen? I thought you had to prove it was yours in order to pick it up?

Oh my! We had a MAJOR trauma today. I had gone shopping and returned with a huge plastic bag (stocked up on Joe Boxer draw-string cotton pants - so cool to wear in the summer!) and let it fall to the floor. Sammy & Stella began playing with it, as I was busy removing the tags from the pants. Suddenly I see Stella streaking out of the kitchen - with the bag ballooning behind her. She had stuck her head through one of the carry handles and panicked, and of course began running through the house at top speed, with Sammy chasing her.

It's very hard to corral & restrain a terrified kitten when you're laughing yourself. Stella, after tearing through 3 rooms with what looked like a parachute attached to her butt, finally managed to rip the bag off. It took almost 20 minutes to coax her out from under the bed.

I think we might skip leash training tonight - and let everyone calm down.

I had forgotten to put the book I wanted to read on my reader before I went . To tide me over I read the fourth book in the Percy Jackson series but had finished it. I didn't want to start reading another book because it would only be a couple of hours before I went home.
