16!
Ahhh, sweet sixteen. The numerical personification of sweetness, innocence, beauty, vivacity, joie de vivre, fun. In fact the perfect description of all the wonderful ladies we have here at MR, no? Well, let me ask you, when you are completely unable to see what 16 is up to, have you seen what 16 is up to? I thought not. Let me introduce you to this little device, the ME Unseeing Surveillance System, that I fell of the back of an unspecified transportation device driven by an unspecified, though slightly hairy, lifeform. This magical device lets you see something, or someone, without actually seeing it. Based on something to do with quantum heisenberg wibbling, or thereabouts. Now, before we turn this on, let just prime you with one word. Mischievious. <WhhrrTHunClunkPing. Ding. Snap. HSSsssss......> We see 16 sitting in a small cafe, with a very European feel and ambience, enjoying a chilled latte while reading. Sitting on a table a little bit away are a small group of people that appear to have caught the friend's eyes. Making sure no-one is looking or can see, 16 flicks a balled up piece of paper straight at the back of the neck of one of the people. With a very impressive accuracy. The target slaps their neck, just as if they had been bitten by a small insect. Intermitently, 16 carries on flicking little pieces of stinging paper at the unsuspecting customer over the next five or ten minutes. Then 16 heads over to the barista for a refill. On the way back, she stopped by the table to chat with the unfortunate customer. Indicating that she has seen that he is being annoyed by little gnats, she offers to spray him with a little repellant that she has in a small hand-sized atomizer. The customer gladly accepts. Some ten minutes later, when the customer is leaving, he stops by 16 and thanks it for the spray, offers 16 a coffee and leaves his number. <Kerplunk. Whizzz.. ssssssssSSSSSHHHH.> See, what I mean. So 16 is rather nice, but perhaps a little bit more wordly wise than we might think. So perhaps not the personification of all our charming ladies. Well, apart from one who, for reasons of modesty, we shall refer to as Miss Chievious Knight (an up and coming starlet....). |

15!
After some of the characters of late (okay, apart from 17!), it's nice to have a real, honest-to-goodness solid character. And not just any old character, one that has the most noble, most honourable and in my opinion the oldest profession. It is one to be respected, worshipped and treasured. You see, 15 is a chef. 15 likes nothing more than creating the most tasteful, heartwarming pots of stew, with all the accompaniments. And 15's couscous is universally acknowledge to be the world's best (based on a secret moroccan recipe collected on a long sojour 15 had studying the cuisine of the area that has never been divulged to another living soul). However, 15's real skills lie with time spent training with 12. And 15's pièce de résistance is bread. Not just any old bread, either. The most amazing pain de campagne. This may sound plain, and un-interesting. But until you have smelt and tasted this most glorious bread fresh from the oven you have truly not tasted the stuff of life. And to cap it all, 15 has the most amazing taste and selection of cheeses that are served with the bread. Ah heaven...... Let's hear it for 15, and its chosen profession. |

16 is also the number that stands for luck, as it represent the prominent posterior part of the body where in some primitive cultures, like mine, it is thought, or better imagined, that good luck has residence. You will ear the expression: Che culo! to indicate both a nice anatomy and a lucky turn of events.
